It was our first get-away together and couldn't have chosen a better spot. From the moment we walked in we knew it was special. The hotel bar is as cool as it gets. Thank you Chaz (GM) and Brahm (master mixologist).

We would stay here again. Good location close to everything, restaurants, shopping, bars and the lake. Our room was in the Carriage House which has rustic decor, nicely laid out and comfortable bed, clean room, nice quality bed linens and towels. Very happy with the room. Looks like the grounds would be beautiful in the warm months. I would recommend these lodgings to anyone.

Our 25th Anniversary ended up being on a incredibly cold Wednesday. I knew there wouldn't be a lot of activities to go to so finding a cozy, romantic place to stay was important. I'm so glad we chose the Maxwell Mansion. We stayed in the Stable Room #5. The bed was incredibly comfortable and intimate with the four poster canopy. The steam shower was amazing. The decor was urban, barn (for lack of a better description). Very unique. If you end up staying here and have a steam shower please be aware that the steam comes up from under the bench and from a metal nozzle (the nozzle is very, very hot--safety first--do not touch it). The Mansion is decorated Victorian and the Apothecary bar has a little Steampunk feel to it. There is a projector room with an oversized red velvet love seat. There are so many unique touches to this gorgeous property. The staff is friendly and helpful. Brent even showed us the Speakeasy (which is only open on Fridays) when we asked to see it. There is a winter weekday special where you can get the second night half off. Taking a break from all the hustle and bustle of this time of the year and really reconnecting with each other was just the best way to spend our anniversary. The Maxwell Mansion was a fun, romantic, comfortable place to visit.

My husband and I spent two nights in room 4 at the Maxwell Mansion. The rooms are recently renovated and are very luxurious. The bed is super comfortable with high quality linens. The steam shower is state of the art. The owner has included small touches, like air freshener in the bathroom, high quality products, and soft bathrobes, that really help make the stay extra comfortable. Room 4 is at the stables behind the main house. The main house also was recently renovated to preserve the original look, and it's just beautiful. Don't miss the Apothecary Bar, which has delicious drinks. The speakeasy in the basement is very fun, although it's not open every night so plan accordingly. The service was wonderful. Beth is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. We look forward to going back. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: Room 4 is great.

My wife & I spent 5 days at this stunning piece of history with a few friends! Drinks by the multiple fire places & at the Apothecary bar. Hot tub in room was a bonus! The staff was friendly. We will visit again for sure!!
