I had been to banasura along with my wife and 2 year old son. The resort is in a very beautiful location and very scenic. The access road is also pretty decent. The rooms give a feel of a star resort. Not much of activities inside the resort, they have an ayurvedic center and a waterfall within the property. Considering the activities within the resort its ideal for a 1 day stay.
The staff are very courteous, swapna and prawin made the day for us by ordering a cake from a far off town and made our anniversary special.

The worst part of this trip was their restaurant. Room service is also very slow. The menu on the restaurant needs a lot of improvement. They had weird combos and did not stick to any speciality. The items on the menu were not exciting as well. Food was always scarce and the restaurant staff waited until the food got completely over and for some one to tell them to refill. So the wait was around 10 minutes to get them to refill and continue your food.
Being a hill resort, the water served was also not HOT. So restaurant is one area that they definitely need to improve.

The best route from bangalore is not the one that they have suggested on the website, there is an alternate route via Nagarahole which says atleast 40 kms since this property is close to Mananthavady than Sulathan Batthery

Room tip: Earth Room is a good value for the buck

Dear oxygen_p,

Thank you for all the good things you wrote about our resort. Thank you also for letting us know what you think needs to be done to improve our restaurant services. We will certainly look into your comments and do whatever is possible to provide a better spread and to speed up service.

We are aware of three other routes from Bangalore which are shorter. The problem is all three pass through wild life sanctuaries. One route is closed after 6 p.m., another is closed after 9 p.m. The third passes through dense forest and is very isolated. Driving along this route at night is not recommended. We will however, add these routes too to our website for the benefit of day time travelers. Thank you for bringing it up.

With warm regards

a quite place , recommended for those who like to unwind. the facility is great as become a part of the natural surroundings.we stayed in a twin cottage ,overlooking a pond. spacious rooms and well maintained.excpet for television , you get cut off from the outside world - most cellphone networks are not accessible from the rooms.

there is a waterfall close to t he resort which is awesome! a trip to the banasua dam is organised by the resort .

you will be disappointed if you expect a lot of sight-seeing etc as this place is not meant for such activities

people are friendly and try their best to make our stay comfortable.however food was a problem - it is mostly kerala cuisine .quality of food was good but the problem is that food is not served hot .

the resort possibly has limited staff in the restaurant and kitchen as one needs to wait for a long time - it is buffet breakfast , lunch and dinner but the quantity of food they make available is very limited and it seems they are not able to prepare for the occupancy adequately - certainly scope for improvement !

Banasura resorts placed at the beautiful blue mountains is a grt place to holiday...located on a hilltop it offers all modern facilities at an affordable cost. i stayed here for 2 days with my gang of friends . we had a wonderful holiday with lot of trekking ,sightseeing , partying,...the staff was very helpful n polite providing excellent service.we visited the nearby banasura dam, karlad lake,n kuruva island. transportation was arranged by the resort authorities at an affordable cost.
the highlight of this resort is,..its structure made fully of earth.,i mean mud. even at midnoon when sun is at full throttle its surprisingly cool inside the building.obviously there is no airconditioning...actually i wud reccomend a heater at times. if we climb uphill from the resort we will reach a waterfalls which is spellbinding. playing in the pure icy coool water was refreshing.it was the moment of a lifetime.
so if you are thinking of a nilgiri holiday....banasura hill resorts is the best .thanks for reading......

A great place with an amazing ambiance. We stayed here on a 3D/2N package. Praveen, the manager, was very prompt & the customer service, in general, at the resort was pretty good.
If you want to do lots of activities around, then this may not be the right choice. However, if you just want to unwind & relax, this makes for a perfect place!
Things around:
- A waterfall (didn't have gushing flow during this time - April) but I've heard it's great post the rainy season
- A tea plantation near by

Banasura Hill Resort is an incredible work of architecture. The rooms are generous in size, clean and extremely comfortable. It was very quiet whilst we were at the resort, no more than 10 guests and at one point we were the only people there. A bit of a luxury having the whole resort to ourselves. The local area with its tea plantations and waterfalls was beautiful to explore and easily accessed direct from the resort.
Our only real issue with Banasura was the food. The food was delicious but several times we had to send it back to the kitchen as it was served stone cold - a bit poor when you are only cooking for max 10 people. This really needs to be addressed as we noticed in the guest book it was mentioned several times.
Overall a fabulously relaxing experience which prepared us for our onward travels through Karnataka and Andra Pradesh.

Dear Joolsjms,

I am so sorry to hear about the incident of the food being sent back for reheating. While I am glad that you brought it to our attention, we will definitely have this issue looked into and resolved. I hope this incident won't deter you from visiting us again in future and savoring some of our southern delicacies we take pride in. We'll make sure you’ll have no reasons to feel less than pleased.

Thank you also for your highly appreciative comments about the resort's architecture. We are happy you liked it as well as the ambience at the resort. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Thank you once again.
