We stayed at the "lodge" for a family wedding over the weekend. We have 2 small kids (one is a baby) and our room had mold, cobwebs, disgusting stained mattresses and floors, a broken and very dangerous mirror, and the crib they brought us to use I sent back immediately. We couldn't switch rooms because none were available, and since we were there for a wedding we had no choice but to stay. The electricity went out due to a storm at 8pm our first night- we had no a/c on a 90+ degree day, no water to shower or make bottles, and the only restaurant in the resort had to close. We were on the ground floor so couldn't leave the patio door open to cool down the room due to bears. It was horrible. The following day the hotel made no apologies to guests, no communication about anything, and no offers to discount our stay. I will mention that the restaurant food was delicious- but service was terrible and took forever. They also rent boats but all of the "mouse" boats were broken down, and the kids who rent out the boats actually said they wouldn't take any out as they end up towed in half the time. Nice! Some people in our wedding party had rooms with a/c that didn't work, and the hot tub wasn't working when we were there. The outdoor pool was recently redone, and there was no sod in yet- only mud and dirt. And the pool had storm debrit and bugs in it so we were limited to the indoor pool for the kids- which was very nice. The lake has leeches and deerflies everywhere, so again- not kid friendly.
When we checked out early due to the mold, there were no apologies made, no room discounts offered, and no attempt at customer service. I was snipped at over the charge for the crib that I had sent away, and despite mentioning that the room was simply unsafe for us to stay in with our kids- I was made to feel like I was inconveniencing them and wasting their time by even staying there.
I could go on an on but I'll simply end with saying that I would obviously never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.
