Not much here. Not very informative. There is better scenery elsewhere in the area.

“Underappreciated Civil War Park”
Reviewed 16 June 2011

Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park is worth the switchbacks Route 219 takes to get there.
Nice little museum with personal touch about men in battle, some fighting brothers and cousins. Good trails and CCC -era picnic shelters. Great view.

“Interesting Civil War battlefield”
Reviewed 14 August 2010

Droop Mountain was one of the largest engagements of the Civil War in West Virginia and the state has preserved key portions of the site. There are a number of walking trails and enough signs to make the battle comprehensible. A small museum adds to the story. Physically beautiful, this makes a nice stop for 90 minutes north of Lewisburg.
