Avista is a great small town stadium, It's really well run and the staff are really great. My favorite time to visit is for the $1 hot dogs!
We rented a sky box. WHAT FUN! We treated our friends to a sunny day, plenty to eat, icy cold beer and lots of fun. Plus, the stadium photographer took an outstanding photo of us that is free to download.
My husband and I always try to watch a baseball game when we visit America, and have had some of our best nights at minor league events. This is a small stadium well supported locally it seems. Unfortunately the Indians were not on their best form the two nights we visited, but the staff in the grounds were really friendly. Our section leader the first time Carma I believe, was truly a great ambassador for the game, town and country, and the second visit we met Vicky and received another great night's hospitality from her. Same ticket seller both times, a very charming young man, and remembered us. We were the only British couple as far as we knew so maybe we just stood out, nevertheless the friendly atmosphere in the stadium made our nights. Plenty of parking (I wish we were so lucky in the UK!) We had Christmas in July the first night. Only downside - the man sitting next to me in shorts did not believe in boundaries - manspreading. Luckily he left early. A really friendly and welcoming stadium. Do visit if in the area.
Daughter and I had so much fun taking in a game here and added bonus the Indians won!
Nice that there is plenty of parking and then an easy walk to the stadium. We purchased our tickets the night of and got really good ones. Just off home base on the third base line. Ticket seller was super friendly and made us feel like we were part of the Spokane Indian family even though we had never been before.
In fact, everyone who worked at the stadium was friendly. Maybe it's just a Spokane thing. Even the beer concessionaires were great. They learned everyone's drink of choice and made sure to circle back about the time that you would be just finishing the last gulp. The food choices were pretty much your usual baseball fare. I ended up taking the Mexican option. It was pretty tasty and hit the spot.
We loved the spirit and vibe of the players, crowd and employees. They had lots of fun games between the innings and fun characters dressed up.
We visited this park for a Spokane Indians baseball game and had a great time. The park is clean, well staffed, with plenty of parking close by, and the concession prices were quite reasonable. For a summer evening ballgame, treat yourself to Avista Stadium. Bring some cushioning for the metal bleacher seats though, as they can get uncomfortable after a long game.
My work each year gives employees free tickets to a game. It is great fun for families or others that enjoy baseball. Try and go on dollar night!
