Deogarh (Fort of the God) is situated on the bank of the Betwa river, in Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh, India. Within the fort is remarkable group of 31 Jain Temples. The most famous of the Jain temples in the fort is the Shantinath temple, which was built before 862 AD. A Image of Bhagwan Shantinath (height of the figure 3.73mt.) is standing inside the sanctum.The shape of this idol, in this temple is based on religious and ethical background. Thousands of Jain sculptures are seen embedded in both sides of the walls surrounding the complex. A special style of Gandhar facsimile can be found on Jain idols.
