My wife and I spent two nights at Manitou in August after coming back from an Alaska Cruise and we had a great time ! We spent two nights in the Sacagewea suite and loved the room, the lodge and the comfortable bed. There isn't much around the area as far as resturants, etc but there is more than enough for several days and the lodge is in a perfect location to set out and explore the beautiful area. Used to staying at B&Bs on the east coast, the breakfast was different, but absolutely tasty and perfect for taking with you in a bag on an early morning hike! Best of all was the area itself, in the evenings, we really enjoyed sitting outside on the front porch and taking in the cool air and beautiful trees and later sitting by the fire. We will definately be back!

We stayed in the Pocahontas suite which was beautiful!. We came to the Manitou Lodge and found Josie and her husband helpful to us beyond their call! We needed to transfer our pictures out of the memory card and it took them about 12 hours to do so and they did it for us on Thanksgiving Thursday with a happy heart. This is a retreat lodge...NOT ....a hotel!. So if you come her expecting luxuries and a concierge there to meet your every need this is not the place for you. They leave you basically alone because this is a RETREAT..just as if you were by yourselves. if you need help...then there is ALLL the help you need. Some people come expecting a Bed & Breakfast type of accommodation....This is definitely not that. This is a retreat in NATURE..a truly Magical place of relaxation and connection with nature. Few places are so respectful of your "solitude". They respect and trust you with this sanctuary.... A ten for us nature lovers!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: POCAHONTAS had a great location

We loved our night at the lodge. We got there late and everything was set up for us to check in- very simple. Had a great nights sleep and woke to a fire in the fireplace, which was nice. Sat on the porch to eat our breakfast, which was very yummy. Not the traditional "bed & breakfast" experience as far as meals go, but it was fine. All homemade and very tasty. I liked the simplicity of it and that I could eat when I wanted and take it with me to get to the beach as well. Very close to La Push and Rialto beach where we went and saw seals on the beach- great experience. Would stay again!! Worth the drive out there for sure!

You asked for a review, so I will give you my full and honest opinion. Your grounds and facilities were clean and attractive. My positive statements abount Manitou Lodge stops there. We thought we were staying at a bed and breakfast. I don't consider an egg and cheese sandwich to be warmed in a mocrowave a breakfast. I could have gotten a better sandwhich at McDonalds. That was a major disappointment. I could have overlooked the short comings, but it had the opposite affect. It magnified the problem of the fact that there was no soap to shower with - we had to use the hand soap dispenser to bathe with. I couldn't even request a bar of soap because there was no one at the desk. The sink was missing the drain plug - not a hard or expensive fix. And the worst thing was the bed sheets which felt nubbie, due to excessive wear. There

We loved our stay at Manitou Lodge, wish we could have worked in two nights. Recommended. Quiet, lovely grounds. Wonderful lodge with lots of common areas with fire place, games, swings on porch, and walking path. Breakfast in your own room ready the night before to warm, very good and allows you to schedule your own time going to the beach. Recommend Rialdo beach at sunset and Hole in the Wall hike at low tide. Schedules in lodge.
