We needed someplace close to Mt. St. Helens and just for one night. We had reserved a king room and were accidentally given two queens at check-in. They caught the error before we did and offered to fix it, but we were tired and the room worked. The place is past its prime, but it is clean and we slept well. The shampoo in the shower was opened and half-empty, but that was the only complaint I had about the room. It was quiet despite the number of families staying there. Breakfast was offered in the morning; there were some pastries, small bagels, and cold cereals. We opted out and grabbed something hot down the road. The free wifi was appreciated, and it is close to several of the town's restaurants.

Other than good wifi connectivity and a good-sized room, can't say much positive about this stop. The pillow was very hard, air conditioner was very loud and hard to get to a comfortable temp, noise from outside was easily heard in the room. When we went for breakfast, we found a little bit of two different cereals, half a pitcher of juice, hot coffee, hot water, and a jar of instant decaf. No one around to help until I rang the buzzer and asked if there was anything else. The man on duty brought out some bread and rolls and went back in his office. No customer service and much more expensive than other places we have stayed that were much better. Don't stop here!

If you're at the end of a long, tiring day and all you want to do is eat and sleep, the Timberland Inn will do about as well as any place, especially if you get there late and plan to leave early. The outside and the lobby area are presentable enough, but the rooms need a refresh......noisy A/C, an old CRT TV and the faint, slightly toxic aroma of Febreze desperately trying to dampen several decades of cigarette smoke. However, Timberland does have the advantage of being within easy walking distance of several restaurants and the front desk staff were very pleasant. So if you arrive with a low level of expectation, if the room rate is comparatively reasonable and, considering the convenient location, there is no reason not to stay here.

Needed a room close to Toutle for one night while participating in the tour de blast. Room itself was ok, comfortable bed. Clean bathroom. On the downside, the tv was an old crt and the remote was only partially functional. Lots of flies in the room (little annoying flies and craneflies). As I was only there to sleep(arrived late and left early the next day), I didn't bother with raising concerns with the staff. Generally content with the facilities, but not worth the price I paid.

This was an adequate, very basic motel for an overnight stay close to Mt. St. Helens. The room was so cold when we arrived on a warm afternoon that I turned off the AC and opened the screened window to bring in some fresh air. This worked fine and we had a good sleep. The shower was great and we appreciated the little frig. I had reserved in advance at the Triple A rate, but this didn't seem to be known to the clerk. When I showed my card, the rate dropped by $10.
The breakfast offerings are very simple pastries and dry cereal. We had some orange juice and went across to McDonald's for coffee and Sausage McMuffins. The one really good/fun place to eat is Patty's Place in Kid Valley...a few miles east of the Silver Lake Visitor Center.

Room tip: Our downstairs king-bed room was clean, quiet and comfortable.
