We visited around 9 pm on a Saturday. There were five of us, and we were seated at a table for four with a chair added on even though the restaurant was half-empty; I assume this was due to the late hour, and we were asked if it was okay before we were seated there. When we were seated, we were told the the kitchen was out of meatloaf; one of us ordered chicken and dumplings, and later we were told that the kitchen was out of dumplings as well. It was late on a weekend, it happens, but it was a little disappointing. The food was standard Cracker Barrel quality, with the exception of the fries tasting off, with a few pieces of limp fried okra mixed in. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and we enjoyed sitting outside and playing checkers for a few minutes before we left. Considering the late hour, it was a good place to eat dinner with small kids. I'd rate it 3.5 out of 5 if I could.
