We ate there twice a couple years ago. First meal was excellent. Second was average, and was told it was a different cook. When the food was excellent, we thought it was a fair value. After the second night, the pricing kept us from returning

I was very satisfied with this restaurant. The food came out hot and fast. The server was on top of things, very patient and polite. Great service and great food, can't ask for anything better. Setting was right off the main drag, easy access. Love to go back.

This was one of the most peculiar dining experiences of my life. The ambiance was heavy handed, trying too hard to be a steakhouse when in reality it is not. The hostess and waitress kept calling us "you guys" which was funny because we are in our 50's and they were barely 20. The wine list was all cheap bottles, nothing notable. Service was not very good, unfortunately. They were trying so hard but just couldn't get there. We had to ask for bread, which apparently was not out of the oven yet and we were never told it was coming. We each ordered a salad which also never came. When our entrees arrived and I mentioned that we had never gotten our salads, the waitress was going to go get them and bring them out with our meals. We declined, since a salad is supposed to be a first course, not a side dish. We were, however, pleasantly surprised with the food. I had the shrimp and chorizo pasta dish which was very tasty, and my husband had a steak that he enjoyed. Overall, if you find yourself in Woodstock, VA, I would give it a try. Just don't expect real steakhouse atmosphere or service.

A welcome treasure in what looks like a deserted town. Arrived at 545 on a Saturday night to 4 tables occupied and was happily surprised to find delicious steaks, top notch service and a welcoming atmosphere. The place filled up by the time we left at 730 but by then the sidewalks had rolled up in this sleepy southern town. Thank you for a delicious meal "Joe's".
