We had a great experience here. Our suite was wonderfully furnished and quiet. Professional, friendly staff, especially David Smith.

Great location for touring the Williamsburg area. The hotel features spacious attractive suites which draws lots of families. The bathroom lighting was wonderful, best I have seen in a hotel. Flat screen TVS both in living room and bedroom. On the down side: we could hear lots of children running in the halls and even in the rooms next to us. The small pool and hot tub were filled with kids. Not interested in the buffet breakfast (not included in our room rate) in the hotel, we walked across the parking lot to the pancake house next door which was very good. If you are traveling with a family, this is a great choice but if just a couple; you may want to stay elsewhere.

Check was smooth and quick. When we arrived at room we apparently interrupted the maid service. The room was clean but there were no clean towels or washcloths and housekeeping was no longer on the hall. Call was made to desk and towels were quickly delivered. We did not eat at hotel but it looked nice. Overall a very nice hotel and we will definitely return.

My top criteria for hotels is suites that have a door on the bedroom. This way our child can sleep while we read or watch tv in the evenings. Spouse also is a VERY early riser so having a separate room works for us.

We stayed in the Magnolia Suite over spring break. The room was huge. Two bedrooms each with a door. There is a pull out sofa in the sitting room, but I didn't see any linens, just extra pillows. I guess you have to ask. Two baths - one ensuite. A big dining table, and a sitting area. TVs in LR, and both BRs. Clean modern baths. Plenty of towels and nice toiletries. Comfortable beds (although the pillows were a little strange). There was no kitchenette but there was a small fridge, microwave and a coffeemaker. No plates or utensils. A few plastic cups that weren't replaced until I asked the front desk. Adding even plastic utensils and paper plates would be nice for eating restaurant leftovers or a snack.

The restaurant/bar was not very welcoming for lunch or dinner. Maybe if you have a brood of small kids and don't want to drag them to out to eat it would be okay. Fine for breakfast. Kids under 12 eat free but not the adults and the price was not shown anywhere. Not at the entry to the cafe, not in the hotel guide in the room with the menu. The breakfast buffet was a good one, but with only one child, we decided to save $25 plus tip for the bussers, and provided our own breakfast. I suspect that is why the room has no plates/silverware -to get you to eat breakfast in the cafe.If you have multiple kids, the breakfast is probably a good deal.

The pool was very nice as was the hot tub. Clean, roomy. I didn't use the gym but it looked like a typical small hotel gym.

Overall we had a good stay. The room was really comfortable. Child enjoyed the pool. It was never packed but she always had someone to play with. Lots of restaurants nearby including Dunkin Donuts for morning coffee and sandwiches.

The negatives were:
1. front desk left unmanned frequently. Once it seemed no one was there for several hours in the afternoon.
2. I don't think the carpet in the hallway was vacuumed the entire time we stayed (4 nights). There were crumbs and a butter mini-tub from takeout on the floor for several days.
3. You could hear noise from the neighboring units - up and next door. I called the desk and asked them to have the upstairs people stop jumping/thumping and they did. The wailing baby next door kept us up the first night but I think they checked out the next day. The new neighbors we saw but did not hear.
4. Didn't like that the price of the breakfast buffet was not posted. It was in line with other buffet prices but I still think it should be posted somewhere.
5. This is petty but they said a newspaper would be delivered to the door. It never was. I saw them in the lobby and saw that others did get it delivered. I didn't really care but why say you will do it if you aren't going to do it?

Room Tip: The Magnolia room was huge. King bed in master. 2 queens in 2nd br and a pull out sofa.

Dear Ripsters,

Thank you for telling us about your recent visit to our hotel. You gave us a very detailed look at your stay. We greatly appreciate that. We are currently looking into all of your concerns about the hotel. We have discussed with our management that it is very important for someone to be near the front desk at all times. Also you have mentioned the cleanliness piece. We have passed these comments on to our cleaning staff. They need to know when they need to make improvements. The buffet we are currently looking in to your concern about there not being a sign posted anywhere about the pricing. We apologize deeply for any inconvenience that any of your concerns have caused you. We strive as a hotel to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable place for all of our guests to stay in.

Thank you again for your time. We hope that you will consider us again in the future.

If you are looking for a great location to all the activities located in Williamsburg - this is it. Clean which is the #1 in my choice of hotels. The pool was rather small and the gym needs to be updated. You can hear the people in the rooms next to you. Despite those negatives, for a great location and good price - a nice place to stay for a short stay.
