Stayed here for the first time this past weekend on a Groupon deal. With that the 2 bedroom unit we got was a great deal. For the price we paid I have no complaints really.

But if we were to pay full price I would expect a little more attention to the updating of the buildings and unit interiors. Some cabinets and pain needed a little attention. And the bathrooms were a bit dated. I wasn't disappointed, however, if you are going to brand yourself as "Diamond" and the luxurious resort, you need to step it up a bit.

As far as the time share bit. We read the reviews and knew what we were in for going in. So we did a few things to mitigate the annoyance of it. First, we arrived Friday evening around 9:00pm for check in. Yes they were still pretty aggressive about the time share bit, but we had 2 cranky little kids who wanted to get to bed and the concierge (who is the one trying to convince you to set up an appointment for their info session) is only there until 10pm. With those 2 elements we managed to avoid a lengthly back and forth. Second, I read a lot about the calls at early or late hours every day with the sales pitch, so I cut that off at the pass by unplugging all the phones in the room as soon as we got in. Both strategies delivered and outside of a very brief interaction at check in, we did not hear anything about the time share the entire weekend.

We stayed here in April, 2016 for our first trip as a family and were gifted this week by a family member. I spent some time looking up things to do and it seemed to be in a great location, surrounded by many activities and not too far from Virginia Beach. Before we arrived we received a phone call from concierge making sure that any questions we had were answered; a nice touch. When we arrived we were impressed that it was a gated community. However, when we got to our unit we were not really taken back by the place. I will say this, it was a nice size especially with it just being 2 adults and a young child. Aside from that we saw stains on the paint in almost every room, the shower heads spit water out at a skin piercing rate, there were tiny ants all around the sink, etc. On top of that, we mentioned to the concierge that we were not interested in their "presentation" about the property and would not be buying into the time share. We received phone calls every day at different times of the day. Once it was at 7:30(!!!) in the morning and another at 9(!!!) at night. With a toddler trying to sleep this was not okay. We went to the pool a couple times but the outdoor one was closed despite the 80 degree weather, so we had to go to the indoor one. This place is decent but nothing more.

Second time coming here with family. The apartments are really spacious with plenty of living room. Our place was spotlessly clean. The weather was great so we spent lots of time by the pool. Great facilities. The wifi can be patchy within the apartment though.

We booked a 2 BR 2 Bath Condo for our family of four for four nights over spring break.
The room was clean. The kitchen was stocked and the area was quiet. The only reason I gave it four stars vs five, was the concierge. They called three times with their sales pitch.

We stayed for three nights as part of a vacation around Virginia and Washington DC. The apartment we were given was really much more than we had expected: it was a spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment with large living area and kitchen -- much larger than many people's homes in London! It was nicely decorated, beautifully clean, quiet, the bed was extremely comfortable, and all the facilities worked very well. Our apartment (like all as far as I could tell) had a large balcony, and really pleasant views over lawn and woodland. The staff at check in were really pleasant. Like all these resorts it seems, they do try and sell you a timeshare, but this was not aggressive or unduly persistent. Had to pay extra for internet, but it was not a great deal and overall, it was excellent value

Room tip: I'd probably avoid a ground floor room (unless you can't manage stairs) because the upper floors have nicer views across the grounds
