The Meal Deals at Busch Gardens are a big money saver. However, with the meal deal, you receive two meal certificates and two additional beverages. Keep in mind the portions at BG are very large - could easily be shared. Each meal turns out to cost $10 per meal including an extra beverage.
The Meal Deals at Water Country are the same thing - big portions.

My teenage boys loved the roller coasters! I recommend you purchase everything online from parking, tickets and especially the meal deal. I purchased two adult meals and it was enough to feed all three of us and then some. We ate in Italy from lunch (cannolis, chicken Parmesan and spaghetti) and pizza and burgers for dinner. You also get free drinks during the day. Definitely worth it. The bathrooms were clean, yet need modernizing. They also need more water fountains throughout the park. The scenery was beautiful and you could always find somewhere nice to sit in the shade. You will get soaked on some of the water rides so come prepared.

This was the first theme park we visited since the birth of my son (now 5). I am not much of a roller coaster fan, but they certainly have their share here. My son does not like rides, period, so we picked Busch Gardens as there are plenty of other things to do and it is much closer (and cheaper) than Disney. If you are planning to see all of the "usual" Williamsburg sites, I highly recommend the 7-4-1 Flex Pass from gowilliamsburg.com. For around $160 you get admission to Busch Gardens, WaterCountryy USA, Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestowne and Yorktown (plus parking) for the length of your stay and you do not have to pay for kids 5 and under!

If you have little ones they will love the Sesame Street Forest of Fun and the Land of the Dragons. They both involve water, so come with swimsuits and extra clothes. There are lockers, but we just used a backpack. My son actually liked the Le Scott log flume, but hated Escape from Pompeii - way too scary on the inside (walls falling in and real flames, etc.). Italy has several standard kids rides also.

In terms of food, the Trapper's Smokehouse is excellent and you can smell it as you get closer. It was honestly one of the best meals we had in Williamsburg. The kids meal comes in a souvenir lunch box, as well. There are plenty of places to grab snacks also.

We had a great time and will definitely be back.

We spent 2 days in Busch Gardens during a trip to Williamsburg, VA. This is the most family friendly park I have been to. We have a 1 yr old son and had to cart a stroller around with us to the park, so we were very impressed when we got to the tram to go from the parking lot to the park and found out there was a separate expanded seating area for families with strollers and that park personnel would actually help you lift the stroller to help you get it on the tram. I have never seen service like that at an amusement park before! Inside the park there were lots of areas for stroller parking as well. There were 2 children's areas in the park, plus some kids rids in other areas. The Sesame Street area is more for kids a little older than mine, but the Dragon area was perfect for our son. For some of the kids rides, parents could ride too, but there were even a couple rides our son was able to go on by himself. Of course these were mild rides! The park also offers breakfast or lunch with Elmo & friends for an extra fee. We decided to do this and it was actually very nice and our son really enjoyed it. The Sesame street characters walked around and you got to meet them and take photos of them (for fee) with your family. There was also a professional photographer to take photos of you with Elmo and Big Bird; it cost $20 to buy these photos. We only got to go on a few adult rides, but the ones we went on were great - 3 roller coasters were Big Bad Wolf, The Griffon, and Apollo's Chariot. The Griffon was different from other coasters I've been on, but is a little on the short side. Apollo's Chariot is similar to Nitro at Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ and was a good ride. The lines at the park weren't too bad and were shorter when we were there at night. I would definitely revisit this park and highly recommend it to families with small children.
