It was incredible to see how the medicine was practiced and how the mentally ill was cared for. Very sad and shocking to see, but fascinating.

“Fascinating look at the emergence of care for the mentally ill”

The family enjoyed the small but interesting display describing how the mentally ill went from incarceration to care. Very interesting

"hospital" used to be a place where the insane of colonial williamsburg were sent. very interesting site. certainly a must see. dewitt wallace musuem is below hospital.
