Stay Report - 11/20 to 11/21
Location: The hotel is indeed located in Downtown Roanoke on the corner of Church and Market Streets. You can walk to a lot of downtown restaurants and bars and the area around the hotel is actually very pleasant though it gets a little seedy if you go a few blocks west. It's also an easy 0.4 mile walk to the Roanoke Amtrak Station and about a 15 minute drive to ROA Airport.
Hotel: The hotel is a bit oddly designed. There's a lobby on the first floor with some meeting space, a fitness center, two computer business center, breakfast area and snack shop, then floors 2-5 are a parking garage. The rooms are located on 6-9. Thankfully there were no issues with elevator waits and all the common areas are really nice.
Check In: A friendly agent thanked me for being Diamond, offered me snack items and gave me the layout of the hotel. All employees I dealt with here were very friendly.
Room: This is what I call the Courtyard style of room as the bed is perpendicular to the wall facing the window. I will say that there was a lot of dead space in the room and I would have appreciated a couch or a chair or similar. The Wifi did work well and there were outlets next to the bed along with a really good sized bathroom
Breakfast: Full hot breakfast with biscuits and gravy, sausage, scrambled eggs, waffle maker and the usual cold items.
Overall a very good downtown option for the city. I'd be back.
