“Great value, wonderful staff!”
Reviewed 13 April 2012

We were on our way to Washington DC for springbreak when a member in our group fell and had to be hospitalized so we booked a last minute stay at this hotel. It was a very convenient choice. Nearby are several restaurants and activities. Our room was very large, clean and comfortable. The lobby decor is beautiful with lots of seating areas and our kids loved the pool. We paid for the hot breakfast both mornings and everything was delicious! The best part of the stay was the staff -- everyone was friendly and helpful no matter the time of day/night. Highly recommend.

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at our hotel! Our swimming pool is one of the largest indoor pools in the area; it is perfect for families looking for an activity at no extra cost.

It is always nice to hear comments on our staff & their customer service; especially when it is positive.

I hope your group was able to enjoy Spring Break & that the injured party member will have a speedy recovery.

Please keep us in mind for any future needs you may have in the Roanoke area; we would love to have you stay with us again.

All the best!

Stopped for one night --on stayed here instead of Hampton Inn as they were given so-so reviews. The rate, though discounted, was high - $142. For the business traveler, there is a desk area with plenty of plug-in ports. Separate seating area, mini fridge, for longer stay. No microwave - maybe one can be requested. Flat screen tv that can be seen from bed area and sofa/seating area. Except for the rate, this was a nice hotel. Took a little while to check in as the two women were having difficulty with their computer. They were helpful once they got the process going.

Thanks for taking the time to share your review of our hotel; I think you hit every selling point we use! Judging by the rate I believe you were in during a high demand time when we had limited availability.

We appreciate your business & hope that you will stay with us again if your travels bring you back to the Roanoke area.

All the best!

My wife and I stayed here for the first two nights of our honeymoon before leaving for our primary honeymoon destination. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Our room was clean and well decorated. The king bed was very comfortable. We were surprised to find that room service was NOT available. If you want food you have to go downstairs and order it, pick it up and then bring it back to your room. This was a real bummer! If you don't care about getting room service then this won't matter. Otherwise it is very close driving distance to the airport, good restaurants and the mall. We will stay here again.

Room Tip: Stay away from the elevator.

Congratulations on your new status as a married couple!

I appreciate your positive comments on our hotel & staff; I will be sharing these with the management staff for them to share with their departments.

Our hotel is not full service & as you mentioned we do not offer room service; this is the standard operating procedure for most select service hotels. This is also a benefit to our travelers since we can offer a lower rate than most full service hotels.

Thanks for starting off your married life at the Hyatt Place Roanoke; don't forget to come back when you celebrate your anniversaries!

Came here for business, room was quiet and good sized. Mini fridge didn't seem to be working. Room was comfy. Interesting placement of TV, in-between living and sleeping areas. Appears to try to keep rooms separate so someone could work or sleep in one while someone else could (in theory) watch TV without bothering the other. Not sure the practice would match the theory. Very limited channels and few digital choices for free. Bed was really comfortable though air conditioning was a little noisy. My room was at the very end of the hall so noise was minimal.
I did enjoy the exercise room and the morning breakfast looked nice though I didn't get a chance to sample it (went to the IHOP about a mile away). Location is convenient to everything around the mall the the I-81 corridor. Was glad to stay here; the Comfort Inn just around the corner had great staff but rooms were very dated, especially for the money.

We recently stayed here on a long commute to Florida. The room was a little larger than expected and the pool was a little nicer than expected. Free internet and a complimentary breakfast were very nice touches. I would certainly stay here again.

It should be noted that the hotel did miss our wake-up call. Thankfully, we had a backup alarm set.

From your review it sounds like Hyatt Place Roanoke was the perfect fit for your family's needs! The convenient location, design of the rooms & the free breakfast make a huge difference when a family travels & it helps with the expenses also.

We have occassionally experienced challenges with our automated wake up call system & it is being checked on. I am glad you had a back up in place!

Thanks for taking your time to write a review on our hotel; I hope you will consider staying with us on your next trip through Roanoke.
