We had a tasty dinner here with friends. We were seated out on the porch which was a little quieter on a busy Friday night. The scallops were delicious. The 3 others got various beef cuts which everyone enjoyed. The wine list was extensive but a bit expensive.

Been dining here for years...always excellent but had a few disappointments Sun eve. Made reservations for outdoor patio dining, arrived and hostess took us to indoor table. I said we had asked for an outside table and instead of immediately trying to accommodate us she said "I didn't see that on your reservation" and then went back to the front desk to check. She came back and then took us outside without saying anything else. Waited longer than usual for waiter, who was incidentally very friendly and professional once he found us, although we did have to waive him down for drink refills, which is atypical here. Daughters dish ok, she was expected Parmesan cheese on top which we tried to flag waiter down for but just couldn't make eye contact. Sons pizza simply had a soggy crust, all the meat/cheese slid off of crust no matter how he tried to pink it. Lastly the rather small portion Mediterranean tuna salad did not have a single olive in it, although that and a few more ingredients for this dish were listed on the menu. Someone should acknowledge, sorry were out of olives on a med salad. Cold reception and less than stellar food presentation makes me worry they may have made a change in the kitchen or something. Hope not. Will certainly be back because its always been so good and 1 of only 2 top shelf restaurants in pville now that IJCanns closed (sad face). to be replaced by a pizza place, like we need another pizza place in pville.

We stopped for lunch at Magnolia's at the Mill while taking a day trip from Reston, VA. Our server, Angela, was very pleasant and knowledgeable. She was able to recommend draft beer and cider from the long menu. We loved the tomato bisque with goat cheese - delicious and perfect for a less-than-steamy July day. The calamari appetizer was also very tasty - not overly breaded and served with a delicious aioli. We also tried the deviled eggs, one stuffed with shrimp salad and the other with thinly sliced salami and lettuce with a vinaigrette. The main room where we were seated is rather dark during the day but there is an "outdoor" room with windows which is much brighter.
