“Great Apartments, Great Stay”

My family and I stayed at The Dunes, Scarborough for two weeks at the end of March 2012.The apartment owners Evelyn & Karl were friendly and helpful. The location of The Dunes is very convenient, a short walk to the beach/shops but located on a quiet street (however, even though there are only about 7 or 8 steps from street level to the aparments I did find them a bit difficult to negotiate with a pram). The apartments were clean, spacious with a well equiped kitchen and laundry, beach towels and beach umbrella were supplied on arrival (the umbrella was especially welcome for baby on the beach!). Each apartment has a private patio area which leads to a communal BBQ area. All apartments also have a safe which I accidentally left some cash in on leaving, Evelyn has since contacted my sister (who lives nearby) and returned it! Overall I must say we were very, very happy with our choice of accommodation and if we were to return to the Perth area we would certainly stay here again.

“Quiet and peaceful yet close to all amenities”

We stayed in The Dunes in mid-February and had a wonderful time. It is a self catering accommodation with 3 units. The apartment was well furnished, plenty of room, and clean ,with air conditioning. Perth is in the high 20s in Februray so the air-con was welcome. The Dunes is on Filburn St in Scarborough, north of Perth, which is about 15 minutes by car (there is a train station 5 minutes away at Glendalough, which is only two stops from Perth), and the beach is only 200 metres away. This is a great beach for surfing and body boards, plenty of waves.
Although The Dunes is so close to Scarborough town, with its shops and bars and restaurants, it is nice and quiet, especially at night.
We found a lovely restaurant in Scarborough for lunch called The Wild Fig on the beachfront and another for dinner called Trigg Island Cafe.
There are plenty of shops around for supplies, there is a Coles grocery in the town, then there is a big shopping mall at Karrinyup, about 5 minutes away and then a huge mall at Westfield (20 mins).
We found The Dunes to be a great place to use as a base to visit Perth (King's Park a must see) and surrounds.
The owners were really helpful and pleasant. Highly recommended.

“Quiet but convenient”
Reviewed 5 March 2012 for a stay in February 2012

We searched for The Dunes under Accommodation in Scarborough. We communicated with Karl and Evelyn who were most helpful. On our arrival from Brisbane, Queensland our apartment was ready. It was a 2 bedroom apartment and was clean and very spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The outdoor area was very pleasant with seating for 6 people. There was a BBQ in another area at the end of our outdoor area which was closed off by a door which could be shared by others. The Dunes is just a 5 minute walk from Scarborough Beach. There is a Coles Supermarket and other shopes close by and lots of coffee shops and takeaways on the beach front.

“Lovely apartment in a superb central location for beach, shops and resturants”
Reviewed 11 February 2012 for a stay in January 2012

We stayed at The Dunes for two weeks from the end of Jan 2012. We found the location to be great with the fantastic beach and local shops including a supermarket all within a short (5-10 Mins) walk away. The apartment is a very well equipped air conditioned two bedroom unit with great outside space for a large table and chairs as well as comunal use of a barbeque. We found everything modern and spotless as well as having a service clean after the first week. The owners Karl & Evelyn could not have been nicer or more helpful with advise etc. We had a small blip with the air con whoich they had sorted out the same day. In adition they lent us boogie boards and a sun umbrella free of charge. I would have no hesitatiom in recommending The Dunes in Scarbough as a brilliant holiday location.
