“Amazing stay at Maui Eldorado condo F204”

The room was amazing, it was so beautifully furnished. It was fully stocked with anything you would need. Being a corner unit we had a lot of windows that made it very bright and cheerful. We had great lanais that allowed us to sit outside with a great view of the ocean. The rooms were big and the beds were so comfortable. The AC worked great, I liked the feature where if you have the doors open the AC does not work, wish I had that at home. The wifi internet was readily accessible.
The condo was close to the lobby and the pool, and it was easy to take the walk to the Beach Cabana or go to the lobby and take the golf cart. It was only a 10 minute walk to Whalers Village where there were great restaurants and shops. The beach was great and the cabana made it so you did not have to transport chairs and towels to that beach. At Black Rock only a few more minutes away there was great snorkeling. You could rent equipment at the shops next to the condo.

“An awesome vacation!”
Reviewed 30 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Last year, we decided we were going to go to Maui to celebrate our parents' 55th wedding anniversary. With 19 family members attending, this was a large undertaking. We started planning in the winter. After extensive research on Trip Advisor, we settled on the Maui ElDorado in Kaanapali.

When we got there, several of us had been there a couple of days prior. The extremely accommodating staff there helped us check in early. We immediately recognized the staff's service-oriented approach and knew we were going to thoroughly enjoy our stay.

As we checked into our room, we noticed the immaculately kept grounds. Landscapers and maintenance workers were there every day ensuring everything was beautiful and authentically Hawaiian.

Our room (F204) was fantastic. Upon entry to that room, you notice the ocean view. Yes, the F building is near the front of the property, but every night we were offered a fantastic sunset through wind-swept palm trees over the golf course.

The four other apartments we booked to accommodate our 19 family members in attendance each had their own charm. Our family stayed in everything from a studio to a 2 bedroom condo. All are individually owned and well maintained.

While we didn't use it, our other family members reported using the limo style stretch golf carts to take them around the property.

We all tried out the three pools. The large heated pool appears to be newly renovated and sits on he roof of the parking garage. It overlooks the sunset area and was a perfect way to end a hot Maui day. The large pool ranges from a separated 12" kiddie pool, to another toe-dipping area, to a maxumum of 4' - perfect for kids. At night it lights up. Our young kids, who range from 4 to 12, went in several times throughout our week there and really enjoyed the party lights.

Also in the pool area are what seems to be a new bathroom building and outdoor shower, wood decking that doesn't become scorching hot in the sun, outdoor seating, a larger picnic area and a grilling station with 4 propane grills. There is also a game area for thing like shuffleboard.

The condo complex is adjacent to a golf course, so you can't walk directly to the beach. It is a decent 5-10 minute walk from the property on a golf cart path We went to the adjacent beach twice. The beach itself is huge and has a decent drop off before you get to the water. The water itself is a crystal clear, tropical blue and is mostly devoid of any sea life - plant or animal. On the last day we were there, my bother reported seeing a large sea turtle swimming around.

The beach cabana is beautiful. From the time we booked, we began watching the cabana web cam and knives there was never anyone there. It is very deceiving because while beach directly in front of the cabana was empty, the cabana itself was packed. Get there early; it fills up quickly!

The property is a quick 5-minute drive to Lahaina. There is a Safeway, Walgreens and other stores in close proximity. If you stay at a condo, you'll want to hit Costco in Kahalui when you arrive and try to get everything you need. Avoid going back unless you absolutely must. While we went there initially, we attempted two other Costco runs. It's about 30 mile ride from the ElDorado to Costco and we're hit with serious Honoipilianin Hwy traffic. We turned around and decided to leave at 8 the next morning. Again
more traffic and 90 minutes there. Anyone interested in a venture (if this doesn't exist already)? Become a professional Kahului Costco/Walmart/Target shopper who will go the day before or if your your arrival, fulfill your shopping list and stock your fridge/pantry for travelers' arrival.

I also suggest going to Kahaliki Beach - a five minute drive - for incredible snorkeling. Don't like snorkeling, just put on a mask or giggles and stick your face in the water. Some of Hawaii's most iconic fish (humuhuminukunukuapua'a, parrot fish and many other species plus a visit by a huge sea turtle makes this a perfect, safe and free alternative to going to Molokini or Lanai. Yes, there are rocks that will cut and scratch you, but there are enough spaces between the rocks to stand.

We just can't say enough about the ElDorado. From its immaculate grounds, to well-maintained units, to its proximity to some of Maui's favorite sites, it's a perfect place to have your Hawaiian vacation.

For the most part it was good, plenty of room. A bit out dated. The air was hard to control and the first bedroom stayed very warm the whole time we were there.
There was construction on the main pool so it was not available.
