I had the misfortune of booking for a night. Needless to stay I just drove back home rather than stay. The carpets were damp and smelled. The walls were paper thin and you could 'hear' other 'guests' next door. The bathrooms were terrible the beds felt damp. After a couple hours of trying I just packed my bags and left.

Partner & I fancied a weekend in London to catch up with some friends and go to the comedy club (Angel, Queens Head), but didn't want to pay the ridiculous prices central london charges - even though we are both full-time working professionals on above average wages.

We paid £95 for two nights which included; free parking (right outside our bedroom window), free breakfast which was a delicious full english, mini fridge, clean tidy room superb shower, less than 5min walk to Ilford station for 20min journey into Liverpool Street, close links to A12/13 and M25.

Have stayed in other hotels on Argyle Road but this was by far the best. Not the most glamorous of places where the hotel is located, but if you're out all day sightseeing, nightlife then this should not bother you.

Free WIFI, complimentary towels and tea/coffee/biscuits.

Great value for money, safe friendly service, would stay here every time we visit London purely on value for money alone!

Room Tip: Room where you can see your car, front rooms.

When you stay at a hotel in London where you get parking, breakfast, wifi and a decent room for £40 a night, it's churlish to point out its faults. The fact is that this is a warm and welcoming guest house that was completely full the night I stayed. It was quiet; a stone's throw from Ilford town centre with pubs and restaurants and, although not 100% clean or well decorated, offered everything that the budget business traveller could want - including a desk. Would I stay again? Probably. Not the nicest street in the world but certainly well worth the money.

A good clean basic, guesthouse characterised by friendly staff who work with a professional attitude. I will definitely use this place again. The location is good with easy access to shops and eating places. Breakfast is good and as expected the service matches that. On the minus side some of the fittings have seen better days but the environment is clean and functional.

I stayed here with three friends (we had 2 separate twin rooms) for one night as we were attending a one day festival in the Olympic park, and it happened to be the Wimbledon finals weekend so a lot of places were booked up and prices were high in the chain hotels! We booked relatively last minute (about 5 days before) for £25 each, not expecting much at all except hopefully a bed, but we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Two of us arrived by car, and two by coach so the first two checked in for us all and had our room key, and showed us up to our room as the staff had already shown them around (our rooms were in two separate areas of the hotel) - I think check in time was from 12pm, or it might have been 2pm but they were flexible if you needed to arrive earlier which we did.
The interior was quite old fashioned with dark walls and dark carpets and huge mirrors, but the bedrooms were bright but plain, white walls with a standard blue carpet, but all was clean and tidy, there was even a small tv and a fridge and a small ensuite. We just popped in to freshen up and drop our luggage off before walking to the nearby train station to head to Stratford, (two streets away, very easy to find, convenient for the late night return afterwards!).
The area was lovely and quiet with mostly hotels on that street, we didn't really have a chance to explore as it was a pretty fleeting visit, but the high street was around the corner and seemed to have some nice looking restaurants etc to visit. The guest house also had free guest parking outside which was handy.
On return then after a fantastic day and hectic train journey back (around midnight), we got back in fine and everything was very quiet and peaceful, no rowdiness or trouble at all, then after a shower headed to sleep. The fridge was very handy to keep water in as it was one of the hottest days of the summer we were staying there and it was stiflingly hot, and it happened to be a somewhat uncomfortable sleep purely based on temperature and because it was a completely still night, nothing to do with the guest house.
In the morning then we headed downstairs for breakfast which was a nice surprise, (I think they were serving until about 9am) and the couple who seemed to own the guest house were working in the kitchen and asking for each order to cook fresh which was lovely, and there was plenty of food and tea/coffee etc there, all at no additional charge, plenty of seating too, however there were a lot of other hungover students there so we had to wait 5 minutes for a table! But while we waited we went to sit outside in the garden which was nice and refreshing on a lovely summers morning!

Overall, if I needed to stay in the area again, I would definitely come back to this guest house and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great value, clean and safe bed for a night or two.
