Description: The George & Dragon is a family owned and run 17th century country free house pub in the hamlet of Dragons Green, set in the beautiful Sussex countryside. The pub is child-friendly and dog-friendly. It has a large secluded garden with a bouncy castle for children in the Summer months, and a roaring inglenook fire roaring in the Winter months. We serve a range of real ales, lagers and wines. Our food is locally sourced and freshly cooked. We have two quirky king size bed & breakfast rooms in a converted stable. In May 2015 Jon Ewers and Simon Corby took over the management of the pub.

Just off the 272 outside Billingshurst on route to A24, good service friendly on the main part. Well priced and well presented food very tasty. Best to book as tables are limited.
Well worth popping in if your in the area,

A Sunday lunch visit with friends. A busy, archetypal English pub with low beamed ceilings (beware!), clean scrubbed tables and good beer. Friendly helpful staff, including the chef who came out to discuss how he made the red cabbage so delicious.
Excellent roasts with all the trimmings including fresh horseradish sauce. Comforting desserts tasty & generous. Would definitely recommend.

Visited here on a dreary January evening.
The place was busy and welcoming with a lovely log fire.
There were ten in our party, but they got the food on the table all at the same time and it was very good.
The waiting staff were young and friendly and efficient.
Will return.

Our friend invited us to listen to him sing here and said it was a great pub for food. We arrived at 7pm to be told they were no longer taking orders for food as they were too busy. Just after 9pm we noticed people arriving at the bar who ordered food!. This surprised us but by then we had passed wanting to eat. For my Wife's Birthday I booked a table for 5 people but at 5pm on the day I received a call to advise that hot food could not be served as there was an electrical problem in the kitchen, this was very late notice and did spoil my Wife's Birthday evening. Undeterred, later I called to book a table for 3 but discovered meals are not served on a Tuesday. We felt like giving up trying to eat here but a friend convinced us to try again, so this Saturday 20th Jan she booked a table. We had been busy all day and arrived at the pub ravenous. We looked around for our friend but she had not arrived. It was busy at the bar and we waited to speak to the single member of staff. He was quite short in his attitude and announced that they were not serving food due to an electrical fault in the kitchen, we could not believe it! Once again our attempt to eat here was thwarted, we were so disappointed. We contacted our friend who had been called by the pub at 6:15pm that evening to cancel, she had tried to call us without success. Seems a very strange coincidence that two kitchen electrical faults have happened just before start of evening service or were there other issues?
I wonder if food was available on Sunday 21st Jan?! Very, VERY disappointed.

We stopped here for lunch during a gloomy January weekday and received a warm welcome and a choice from what looked like a delicious menu! Lovely home-made soup and a fish platter!
Pity the pub didn’t seem to reflect the heritage of Arthur Rackham who had lived just across the road for over 10 years – I had half expected some Rackham illustrations of the George & the Dragon around the place.
