Ok, where to start? I booked a suite whilst in Gravesend for business.
So let's start with the suite. It was large, well kept, in tip-top condition with awesome views across Father Thames. 2 sofas, washing machine, dishwasher, full kitchen, freezer and cooker.
Bedroom was large and bathroom was good. Overall I can not find fault in this suite, all for £110 a night.
And the rest of the hotel? Well the beautiful stairs from the lobby have been spoilt by the introduction of plastic pillars & bad painting and the artwork on each landing is something a 1st Year art student would produce
The restaurant? A limited menu, but I have to say it was very well presented and tasted great. Wine was reasonably priced and decent quality. And the new member of staff who served us (his 3rd day) was great. Very attentive without being pushy.
Breakfast? Very limited, freshly cooked to order but the OJ was squash! A big no-no in my opinion.
Car park is free outside.
Would I return? Absolutely. It's a great hotel, I'm finding fault on some very minor things. I think in summer it must be even better with all the benches on the lawn overlooking the Thames.
I can't quite give it full marks as the breakfast was so-so and the awful artwork/cultural vandalism of the stairwell. But it's a lovely hotel all the same.More
