We booked tickets online where no mention was made of the amount of rides which wouldn’t be available and arrived shortly after 10am. Even at this time the queues were in excess of an hour. We walked around guided by a useless map. My five year old wanted a go on the safari roundabout which being a ‘boring’ ride I assumed the line would be quick - how wrong I was! Nearly 50 mins in the queue to ride on a delapidated roundabout. Even a 5 year old was disappointed. The whole park is in need of refurbishment. The flower beds are scruffy, bins falling apart and everything in need of a lick of paint. I queued for almost 2 hours with my two 9 year olds. When we got to the front, the staff let about 6 trains go through which were compltetely filled with ‘Fast Track’ people. When a complaint was made, the Supervisor basically shrugged her shoulders with no apology or empathy to having kids waiting in a scruffy cold queue 2 hours for a ride of 2 minutes. Fast Track tickets had sold out despite ride attendants repeatedly directing people back to the booths to purchase them. All in all, we had a 150 mike round trip costing £176 to ride on 3 mediocre rides and be ripped off for the price of lollies, drinks etc. What a complete waste of money and time - will definitely NOT be returning EVER.

Having read the reviews and already having a 2 day trip planned we were a little sceptical.
However, we were pleasantly surprised. The park was compact and really easy to navigate for those little ones who get tired legs. The park looked tidy and well maintained and rides seemed to be running majority of the time (we now live in a health a safety ott time so stoppages should now be expected).
The sealife centre was lovely, with the penguin feeding and talk, sea lion show, carnivore feeding, animal antics show and otter feeding and talk all being on time and really interesting. The staff were fantastic, special mention to the sea lion trainer who was superb! The animal side of the park was excellent.
We didn’t go on some of the bigger rides with younger children. For us most of the rides had reasonable wait times. Our first day was wet and this must have put people off. The other day was lovely and sunny and the number of people in the park did get a bit crazy. I would question capacity in such a small area.
The Vampire and Gruffalo ride were fantastic and definitely worth the wait. There were plenty of fun rides and our children had plenty to do. Seastorm and Scorpion were also superb for our group.
We took our own lunches and ate in the nearby (as in 1 min away) beefeater at the premier inn to avoid busy food outlets.
If you want a mixed experience of animals/ shows and a few rides this is fantastic. It’s easy to cover and our kids rated it the best out of Alton Towers and Legoland.
Now a few negatives.....
The Zufari was awful. A huge wait and we saw 2 gazelles and a manky looking ostrich. Live animals are always unpredictable but this ride claimed to be able to see Zebra, giraffes, flamingos, rhinos and a range of few more. I’d have preferred to see fake versions in a pretend safari than this.
Staff were all exceptionally young and in the customer service office this was like watching lambs to the slaughter!!! The office was woefully manned and should have more senior staff there. I felt so sorry for these 16/17 year olds being yelled at and no having a clue how to cope. This definitely needs addressing for staff and public!
Overall, we had a lovely 2 days and would definitely return. Hope Chessington get it right for the sake of their reputation and staff.

Bad parking, no signs, lengthy wait to get in although we already had tickets bought. Staff had only opened two kiosks to sort entry...5 others were closed.
Wait times were ridiculous. By 3pm we had just got on one ride. The other we were waiting for for, Dragons Fury, we were waiting for an hour and a half and then technical problems occurred which they suggested we came back later. So that's time I will never replace. The Sea Life centre was rubbish.....you may as well go to your nearest Petsmart as the fish were similar. Just hated the trip!!! Would never return

We bought the annual passes which are about the same price as two days entry- definitely well worth it. Excellent rides and the staff are very helpful. Bring some of your own food and drinks too for the queues
