First visit to Chessington today - me, hubby, Ted (7) and Will (3). We had a BRILLIANT time!

Weather was drizzly/wet but we were undeterred... We arrived dead on 10am, parked quickly and wandered over. Paid using vouchers so saved a lot of money. Short queue to get in, and we were off.

First stop - Gruffalo River ride. Lovely! Very sweet, a little damp, but very cute. A nice gentle way to ease the boys into the theme park adventure!

Monkey Swinger - I neglected to watch the ride before we went on it, so consequently got very wet!

Queues weren't too bad - longest we waited for any ride was 15 minutes. Queue for Vampire late afternoon was tiny so we manged to get two rides in quickly!

Lunch at the pizza/pasta buffet. Pizza kept on coming, plenty of it, and lovely and hot. Great salad bar. Two choices for pasta. Only negatives - no soft (fizzy-free) drinks for kids, and no pudding!! (I do like a pudding.)

We arrived at 10am and stayed past 6pm. The boys loved the rides they tried, and we went on quite a few twice -- I assume the drizzly weather put people off. Wasn't too busy, and we did plenty.

Sea life centre is small but enough to entertain our two. Loved the penguins.

Plenty of play areas for kids to let off steam, and plenty of indoor places to shellter from the rain if it gets heavy.

We didn't go on everything we wanted to - spoilt for choice. So we have more to look forward to on our next visit. And of course the new tiger zone opens in May.

We had such a good day we went to the Hub and bought annual passes for the park. The cost of tickets purchased today was taken off the cost of the annual passes.

We will be back!

Thank CrystalBobby

We spent over £100 to go to Chessington Park & Zoo for 2 adults 2 children. Even though it was raining we thought we’d still have some fun. Express parking and checkin were all good and easily located. We arrived at the front of the queue with plenty of time to spare.

The Vampire ride was great. However, several of the big rides we wanted to go on (Pirate ship Black Buckaneer) and Log Flume were closed till May. We weren’t told about this till we asked a warden after trying to find the rides on a map, and we might not have gone if we had known this.

Also the Dragon’s Fury broke down constantly most of the day and we queued for over 1.5 hours to finally get a ride.
The carriages were only using 2 out of 4 seats due to "extreme weather” conditions. It was raining a little but not sure if this was extreme weather conditions.

A real disappointment feel let down by our experience today and priced at over £100 for a family wasn't worth the money.
Hope other families are luckier than us and the majority of the rides are actually open for them.

Thank jamie g

Rainy Days though maybe a bit quieter, rides kept breaking down on us and very few actually working.

When we left offered a free return on their rainy day offer but doesn't benefit us as we are merlin pass holders. Some may find this advice of the rainy day helpful.

Although the weather wasn't great still a great place to hang out especially if you have Merlin passes. I bring my own food for myself and the kids only because the food is expensive and there are always long queues. There are outside stalls to win giant toys and donuts. Disappointed that dragon falls plus the boat ride was closed. Loved the new gruffalo ride though.

We travelled a fair distance to visit chessington. There were lots of rides closed and then .ore rides closed early due to rain. The place was virtually empty by early afternoon due to ride closures. I contacted Chessington to see if there would be any discount on future visit as we didn't get a chance to use the full park.
The response was, sorry our terms and conditions say no.
Pity as our family will now spend our money at another park which treats it's customers fairly.
Poor show Chessington. If your park isn't fully operational, how can you think it's acceptable to charge full price.
