What you would expect

The room was a typical premier inn room, although had a nice view over the river. The room was on the 1st floor and was hot, outdoor temperature was 19. Evening meal was poor, had a a6 page of food not available, I don’t think your kids should pick up a baked bean and have 7 more stuck to them. Breakfast was good but they were severely rationing croissants

Rooms too hot - even in mild weather

We stayed in mid/late August. Room was west facing (car park not river) and was just unpleasantly hot throughout, when outside temp was not - 18/19 during the day, far cooler at night, but room did cool down. Windows barely open, fan ineffective for a family room (on rotation) and also loud (a problem when sleeping and also when attempting to watch TV seeing as Prem Inn limit TV volume).
We were aware, when booking, that it didn't have aircon - but it didn't occur to us it would be necessary in these temps. It seems the rooms heat up with any sun, regardless of temp, and retain heat. They need some sort of reflectors on the windows, or to allow them to open more. Either way one to avoid in Spring / Summer. And our second disappointing Prem Inn experience in a row.

IoW visit

A comfortable Premier Inn on the Medina Creek. Typical room, clean and basic. Quiet pub garden with river view. My partner said the burger was good, and I was very grateful to Tracey for advising me on the gluten free options for dinner at the Beefeater restaurant. An enjoyable weekend stay.

Not ideal on a summer’s day

The main reason for the poor rating is the room temperature. The room was very, very hot. I am aware the hotel does not have an air conditioning unit but wasn’t expecting it to be unbearably hot. They have one barely working fan in the room. The windows don’t open due to health and safety concerns.
If you booked your accommodation in the Isle of Wight at the last minute like us, i suggest you bring your own fan ( i brought 2 small fans).

Great location but be prepared for a hot night

The hotel is perfectly located on the north of the island and lots of attractions are nearby. It’s a quiet location and parking is good. There is a beefeater restaurant next to the hotel which provides lunch dinner and breakfast. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear to be running at full capacity for dinner yet so gets booked up early. The room was clean and tidy however there is no air conditioning and the room was boiling hot at night with little air flow. They provide a fan which helps a little but it was an uncomfortable nights sleep. The weather wasn’t hot so I’d imagine it’s a nightmare to sleep if it was a warm night. They really need air conditioning.
