Terrific place, really lovely apartment, clean and functional, in a wonderful setting. We had a great stay and I would highly recommend it as a holiday destination

We had an excellent time at La Soldanelle. We drove from the UK and found the apartment easily after a very memorably scenic drive on the stretch of road down from Bulle. We were met by the key holder, Lynne, who was extremely helpful showing us where everything was in the apartment and the facilities downstairs. We were thrilled with the view of the mountains which the photo's don't do justice. We would have liked an apartment with a balcony but we didn't miss one as much as we thought we would: opening up the windows seemed to bring the mountains and it's resident goats (and also donkeys), with their clanking bells within touching distance.
We made good use of the swimming pool and gym facilities, which were perfect. Our 9 year old son would have stayed here throughout the holiday given the chance. But we spent most of the holiday taking advantage of a 5 day Gstaad easy access card (about £120 for a family of 3), doing about £400 worth of cable car rides, train journeys and other included attractions, highlights of which were Glacier 3000 (50% discount) and the Zweissimmen rope park. The former especially was amazing as we were lucky enough to go up on a clear, warm day and it was spectacular. We drove down to Montreux afterwards and had a nice stroll along Lake Geneva before having dinner with a view of the lake. The drive home along the Col Des Mosses was the drive of my life: a great way to discover the limits of your brakes.
I can't remember a holiday where we did so much and yet regretted not doing so many things. Thanks to the owners for all the info supplied, which was very useful, and for such a nice, clean apartment. Highly recommended.
If you want to walk the hills or just relax by the pool this is the most comfortable and well appointed apartment to do these things from. Close to the famous Glacier 3000 teleferique and Gstaad it is ideally located and with its in-house pool and jacuzzi it's also great to relax at base. The beds are comfortable - even the futon in the lounge is a lovely size and comfy. There are a couple of reasonable restaurant/bars in the town and a large co-op supermarket so one can easily self cater or if you wish eat out. We would highly recommend this apartment and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
