Saw the earlier reviews as we popped into this seaside town for petrol and a journey break plus lunch. Bar La Punta has a Great location very pleasant staff and our choice of mussels and sardines were very good. Two beers and two coffees later all for €32! Great value too. Deserves great credit. Cheers

The old center of L'Escala is renewing its boardwalk and right there in the middle with a great view on the sea is restaurant La Punta. We arrived around 9:30p and were lucky to find a table on the terrace. The waiter was friendly and asked if we'd cared for a drink, which we did, so we ordered a bottle of Alabariño, one of the two on the short but very decent wine list. The menu had two or so options with meat, but everything else was seafood and fish, so it was clear what to order. We started with razor clams and calamares, both a la plancha. Both dishes were well proportioned and the high quality of the food was clear immediately: fresh products and excellently prepared with some oil, garlic, parsil and lemon. As a main dish we ordered the Arroz al bogovante, rice with lobster. It is similar to a paella but without safran and more fluid with more stock. The dish for two came in a large paellera, and was simply said... mind blowing!!! Tasty, fresh, with a lot of mariscos and large chunks of perfectly cooked lobster.
It's hard to imagine a better seafood restaurant in town!
With the bill (87 euro, a bargain for such a fine treat), we were offered a liquor on the house.
No need to say, we went back to the hotel very very happy and satisfied!

I came here with my family the second night of our visit and wished we could come here every night. All of the food is amazing and the staff was very nice. Since I have to eat gluten free we called ahead in advance to let them know. When we arrived they told us that anything on the menu could be made gluten free. The fried calamari, and chiperones (small fried and breaded squids) could be fried in separate oil and they had gluten free flour at the restaurant. All night the service was great, and the food was spectacular. Everything we ordered was fresh off the grill. To top a perfect meal we had an amazing view of the beach, ocean and the sunset. A must visit when nearby and I would come back again.
