flying into girona it takes just over an hour to this hotel, you do get dropped off (if by coach) a five minute walk away as the road is quite hard to drive up, but caused no problem. Entering the hotel at 9pm we where greeted with a smile and explained everything, you receive a card for your room, card for all inclusive and card for your glass, sounds abit too much but it works perfectly, no wasted drinks left lying around and empty glasses everywhere. The rooms are basic but clean, there is a hairdryer great shower, the balcony is a little small but the sea view made up for it. The food is adequate and yes they do try their best. The roof terrace is amazing the view is spectacular, it has a roof top bar which serves alcohol and a seating area and lots of sunbeds too choose. There are lots of walks the town is 10 min walk with everything you need. Great hotel would definitely go back there.

Room Tip: Higher the better 715 was a great view

Don't listen to the professional moaners below. Just listen to the normal people. We went as a family from Hull, two parents and two teenage lads and WE ALL LOVED it! This was a great Hotel, very friendly, totally clean and quite peaceful and relaxing for such a large hotel. We were all-inclusive and the food was lovely and beautifully presented. Always a wide choice of dishes and all clearly marked with symbols so that you knew what was in it! Alongside the really tasty Spanish cuisine and wide selection of salads and desserts, they also made a great effort to include choices that you'll be familiar with in England, like Burgers, Chips, English Breakfasts, Pizzas - and even brown sauce and also gravy! (Which was different! - but still nice, at least they tried and that's to be respected.) Yeah, of course some of the food gets cold cos it's presented in buffet-style... but so what? There are microwaves all around the restaurant to heat it up, if you're one of the moaners. The pool was just the right size and located well, (but you'll only get the Sun there in the afternoon btw - so the beach is best in the mornings) plus there was an adults-only roof-top terrace (SUN ALL DAY) with free jacuzzis, which was absolutely beautiful. (Plus there was a private indoor sauna and hot jacuzzi that you could book for free if you were all-inclusive.) It's only a 5 minute walk down to the beach (which has that great bigger sand that isn't like the flour of English beaches that sticks to you for ages - this stuff here just dusts off!) and the town is right on the doorstep basically, with a nice English pub right next door if you fancy a Sunday Dinner, or want to watch an English match. The rooms are nice but yeah, you can hear your neighbours if they're noisy, but who cares? Just put some ear-plugs in! (Everyone goes to sleep eventually ha, ha.) In conclusion, this is a great value-for-money hotel, clean and very friendly staff. What more do some of you want? We'd recommend it for anyone who is appreciative of the efforts people make for you and we'll definitely be going back ourselves next year, because we were totally happy with it. :-)

Long story short: they made us pay for a mini-fridge...they made us pay for the sun beds and umbrellas - daily (it was the hotels private beach!!), the cover beds had big holes in it, no wifi, the sheets were in really bad shape, and to top all on our last day they gave us a terrible take away breakfast that they called a “picnic”.
To top it all up, it was a 2 star hotel that gained it’s 4 stars in the 80’.

Just back from Calella Palace and all in all have had lovely time. As with all places there are both positives and negatives.
Good location, comfy beds larger than the norm in this type of hotel. Piping hot water, free toiletries replaced daily.Lovely views from roof top terrace, enjoyed the Jacuzzis and good music up there, free from the little ones too.
Food was of good variety, I can't understand people saying they had to eat out , there is something for everyone every day. Not always as hot as we like it but there are microwaves so just warmed it up if needed. Served in tapas dishes which is a lovely touch.
You can go on free trip to other HTop hotels with lunch and drinks included, we went to lloret de mar and had lovely day out.

Negatives are walls are paper thin . You really can hear everything your neighbours do and say !
We were disturbed badly during the first week by inconsiderate youngsters shouting ,banging, having tv on till 5am or coming in rowdy in the early hours . The second week we couldn't sleep because our neighbour on the other side was snoring so loudly you would have thought he was sleeping in our room!
Towels are tiny and don't even wrap around you after a shower or bath, considering it is a spa hotel this was disappointing.
The card system for the drinks was irritating. It works ok in the bars and keeps the place tidy but causes queues in the already busy restaurant and often doesn't scan. We found this wasted a lot of our eating time. The wine isn't the nicest to be fair either .
It was Spanish bank holiday weekend while we were there and I have to say sadly some families who arrived for that spoilt it for others. Children were allowed to run riot in the restaurant and bar , all over the stage and dance floor. The adults were loud and rude , pushing in front in the queue for food, drink and lifts and dominating the dance floor. For once it wasn't the Brits who were badly behaved as we so often get a bad press abroad.
And also on that note we went out most evenings after sampling the evening entertainment which catered mainly for the Germans and Spanish. A bit more English evening fun /music would have been appreciated.

All said already looking to book next year .

We recently spent a week at the Calella Palace Hotel. We absolutely loved our stay here. The food was so delicious and always so much choice and variety. The staff at Reception, bar and Restaurant were very friendly and helpful. The entertainment team were wonderful and included everybody in the activities and the night time entertainment was second to none. We spent most of our time on the rooftop terrace and enjoyed sunshine from early morning til evening. The hotel was very clean everywhere.
