We had a very enjoyable visit to this restaurant.

The service only needs a short comment: It couldn't have been better, they were very friendly and warm without being intrusive and also knowledgable about the food they serve.

We had fried calamari as a starter, which was tasty but not very crispy. We then shared the seafood paella and black rice paella, both of which were very good and definitely cooked with fresh ingredients. We did prefer the seafood paella, it was just spot on; the black rice paella was very good as well, but a bit too oily/fatty.

The wine was good and at a good value.

The only criticism I can think of would be the less-than-stellar calamari and the fact that the restaurant is just a little pricey for what you get.

We have been regulars in Cadaques for the last 30 years but hadn't been to La Sirena for some time, so seeing the good reviews in Trip Advisor we decided to return. It is not as good now as we remember it being; the Sirena salad was boring and not a patch on what is available elsewhere, and the Lubina on the bone was so swimming in sauce that it was impossible to see to fillet it successfully. One would also expect the prices to reflect the fact that there is no view, but in fact it's as expensive as much better restaurants such as Can Rafa and Talla. Service was ok but not friendly in the way one expects in Cadaques. There are so many excellent restaurants in Cadaques that we don't anticipate returning to La Sirena - a pity

My family have a house here and I’ve been coming for the last 20 years. This is the best paella in Cadaques without doubt! I definitely suggest the Marinera option.

It’s just slightly off the beaten path, tucked away near enough the main square but in its own alcove away from it all. A recommendation from our Airbnb host, it attracted a wonderfully international crowd—next to us was a French, Australian, Catalan mix, who were pleased to chat in several languages and share food tastes. Our waiter Marcel handled it all in his own multilingual mix. We started with a cava sangria, a somewhat unique style that was both frizzy sweet and sour with fresh lemons. Spectacular, and served with a cinnamon stick. The very artful salad pictured here combined fresh lettuces, candied almonds pumpkin seeds and smoked cheese and sel serve oil and vinegar. We opted for the black rice that even the squeamish must try. A multitude of shellfish, lobster, and gambas in a squid ink and monkfish broth that was otherworldly in its taste sensations. The prices were fair for the excellent food quality. The table next to us had the seafood stew which they let us try and it too was delicious and special. This is a place for dining reflecting le terroir or la terra. Very strongly recommended.

Sits in a small corner courtyard off the adjacent street - nice to sit outside, informal, charming. Our maitre’d was multilingual, humorous and attentive. Even better: he asked good questions and made terrific recommendations for both starters and mains. The baked sea bream, which we would have passed over, was particularly outstanding. The better restaurants in Cadaques are pricey. No exception here, but the food and ambience were VERY good.
