We wanted to stay near to where Dali's house and studio was and Cadeques was perfect. We absolutely loved the traditional house and area it was in, both were very well appointed, be it with less fans than we would have liked (as mentioned in previous reviews, so would have hoped host will pick up on that PLEASE). Other than that we couldn't fault our stay, delightful at night to eat out/drink walking everywhere with ease and coming back to a comfortable and quiet rest. Now the stairs all 37 of them ;) be prepared, but understand the nature of the building you are staying in relates to the design and stairs. If you do then you won't mind having a few extra steps to wear off that paella!!
This house in beautiful Cadaques is so unlike most holiday rentals, it is packed with character and charm, quirkily decorated with interesting furniture, original paintings and antique objects. Each room had it's own bath or shower room, the sitting room was super comfortable and joins the kitchen so no one felt left out! It is just a few doors away from one of the best restaurants La Sirena, the smell of the food wafting up to our balcony each evening made us have to go and check it out, we were not disappointed!
We were a family party of 5 adults all with varying wants for our holiday, but Cadaques satisfied all our needs, from extreme sport activity to lolling on the beach and eating icecreams! We were all rather stressed and tired when we arrived and left totally relaxed and refreshed.
Although it was no problem for us, it should be mentioned that the stairs were really steep, so not suitable for those with mobility issues, also the gas hob was a bit eccentric, but we probably did more cooking than most as it is our family passion!
We are all planning our return to this beautiful house in the best town on the Costa Brava.
We stayed in this beautiful home for part of our honeymoon and it completely exceeded all expectations! The home is centrally located right in Cadaques, walking distance to all the restaurants, bars and shops. The home is five stories (so you do need to be ok walking up some steep stairs!), but the view from the top is totally worth it! It was the perfect rooftop to have some wine and cheese and watch the town below. Lahra was a pleasure to work with, very easy communication on email and phone and gave us some recommendations in town. We would definitely stay again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this pretty, bougainvillea-covered house in one of the most photographed lanes in Cadeques. The house is full of character and nicely furnished and scattered with interesting artwork and objets d'art. The house does have 5 flights of stairs which certainly keep you fit particularly if you are lucky enough to have the top bedroom with it's large terrace and amazing views over the village and sea.You can watch the sun rise and set and it was well-used by us as our favourite spot for early evening drinks. The house is perfectly located near bars and restaurants and a few steps away is the pretty archway which leads to the harbour. Parking, which we feared would be difficult proved not a problem as Lahra met us and directed us to a convenient parking area. We must say a special thank you to Lahra who came to our rescue when one of our party left his phone behind in the property. Thanks Lahra for being so helpful!
