Nothing bad to say about this place. It is right on the Camino too. They have a wide variety of foods and it's quite popular... I had a calzone with some beer. Yum! They also bake their own bread...

Everytime I've been to Ágora I've always been greeted with a smile, very social atmosphere, great food with an excellent variety and constantly new things to try. The Spanish favourites frequently appear on the menu, along with dishes from all around the world. The owners take a pride in serving ecological and fairtrade products and often run various projects supporting the local community. There is an interesting selection of books for browsing and good music. Very popular place in Ponferrada so can get busy at peak times, but well worth the visit. Enjoy!

If you're looking for a super-affordable place to chill out and read over a lovely pastry and coffee, or have a great home-made lunch, this is the place for you. It's also a much-loved local bakery. I went here twice, first to eat a fantastic tortilla de patatas, and they also threw in a free mushroom pizza slice that was very good. The next day I had a veggie stir-fry with walnuts (salteado de verduras) for lunch, which was also excellent. It's a generous place with employees who care about their clients and who have a well-deserved local following.
I wasn't a huge fan of their espresso - a bit sour and bitter. But it's a small thing. Overall, I'm very much in favor of supporting indie, eco-friendly places like this one, which have a precarious existence especially in an economically depressed region. I'm frankly amazed this place exists here.
Other pluses: a nice view of the mountains from afar, lovely wooden decor, friendly staff, and lots of multi-lingual books onhand in case you arrive empty-handed.

I always like coming to this little cafe as I am assured a genuine welcome and there is a wide choice of dises cooked on the premises. They also use fairtrade and organic food which is rare in Ponferrada, and donate a % to charity

I love their calzoni, smoothies and pasteles de Belen but there is much more I want to try, including their fish & chips and full English! Definitely the most interesting eatery in the town.

I have visited this establishment several times, including while doing the Camino in October 2014, and I highly recommend it.

This is a small cafe/restaurant on the Camino de Santiago in Ponferrada. First and foremost - the coffee is delicious. They serve organic and Fairtrade coffee, which is the same price as any other coffee in Ponferrada - 1.10€ in November 2014. And being in Castille Y Leon you also receive a 'pincho' included with your drink, which at Agora is a small slice of pizza and a small piece of toast with hazelnut spread.

They have an extensive menu of foods, from all around the world (one of the few places that serves sushi on the Camino!) and I have tried a number of dishes from the menu and none has disappointed (including the sushi). All of the pastries are delicious - highlights being the Tarta de Manzana (Apple Pie) and the Tortillo Feo Portgues - a sort of chocolate brownie. They also make delicious cookies.

All products are made on site - and as the review bey Selma82 states - the team that work there are extremely friendly and kind - and they also speak good English. It is open late and so a good option for post-walking nutritious and delicious meal.

So whether walking the Camino or visiting Ponferrada for other reasons, I highly recommend Agora for a light snack, lunch or dinner.
