Leaving Molinaseca, on the Camino, I took the road route into Ponferrada, then I missed the turning off the road and ended up coming into the town on the wrong road, thank goodness I did.
I stopped just for a beer but the waiter bought my beer and a small bowl of mussels. These were the best mussels I have ever tasted and if you have read any of my other reviews, you will know I like my food.
They were so good I stopped for Sunday lunch and ate well on the Pilgrims menu for very few euros.
It is a very short walk from the town centre, where you would pay twice the price and it is very close to the Albergue San Nicholas de Flue.
Very good food, good service at a bargain price, another Grey Packer Gem!
