We have just returned after staying here for a week. We usually stay at Thompson Gold or Sensimar, but after seeing the positive reviews for Barcelo thought we would try something different.
Upon arrival we didn’t have much of a welcome and no arrival drinks were offered. We were told we would have to pay for our safe and towels, we could have one towel change and we would get a refund at the end of the holiday for the towel. The receptionist also informed us our room had been upgraded, yet the room was just a usual standard room with no view other than some gardens ?

The hotel is very dated and in need of a makeover, the restaurant is quite disorganised and it was difficult to find something that we wanted to eat. The food looked sloppy and unappetising. Whilst the restaurant was clean the plates certainly were not. We booked half board and looked forward to eating out at lunch time in order to have something decent to eat.

The evening entertainment was held inside, it was dark and dingy with very little lighting. There was usually a band playing but the entertainment ended at 10.30. On a positive we found a great pub locally called 7 pints where there was much more of an atmosphere.

The hotel pool area however was lovely and tranquil, and we enjoyed relaxing by the pool most days . I made use if the spa facilities which was also very pleasant, however to use we had to pay an additional 16 Euros per person for the day.

This hotel does have the makings of being a very good hotel, it is in a great location and near to main town and beach with a lot of shops and restaurants to offer. The staff are very friendly but Sadly the hotel currently lacks atmosphere, and feels the need for charging additional extras that we were not made aware of upon booking this hotel.
I would return to Furteventura but not to this hotel and unfortunately this has also put me off booking another ‘Barcelo’ hotel.

Although we sincerely regret reading that your stay at our Barceló Corralejo Bay fell short of your expectations, we are grateful for the time you spent to share this feedback of your overall holiday experience among us as we certainly believe that there is always room for improvement and your constructive feedback is very much appreciated.

It is with great concern that we have read your comments on our reception team as it is renowned in the hospitality industry that the first 10 minutes at the reception and the last 10 upon check out contribute greatly to the reputation of a hotel. Please be assured that your comments about the welcome drink have been shared with the concerned managers so they can make the appropriate adjustments in the areas you mentioned.

About your safe comments, we have a contract with an external company who provides the safes, change them when they are broken, etc. It is an agreement that we have in different Barceló Hotels. Due to this contract, we need to charge the guests for this service to be able to pay back to the owner of the room safes. We are agree that it might be rare to charge for this service and we can understand that some people consider it should be a free service although we need to honor actual agreements.

Regarding your makeover comments, we would like to inform you that we are already studying a new project to renew the Hotel´s facilities.

Besides, we regret that our buffet couldn´t meet your expectations, mainly because the quality and the diversity of our culinary offer counts to our strengths. We take your comment, specially regarding the plates and our cuisine very seriously, because we wish that our gastronomy remains a very special treat for our guests.

About the animation, we would like to inform you that we will take note about your comments to inform our Animation Manager. We will continue doing our best to guarantee quality entertainment for all our guests in the future.

We are very happy to know also that our staff could meet your need and that you loved the Hotel´s location and you found all shops and town center close.

Finally, we are glad you enjoyed the beauty and comfort of our pool area and U-Spa facilities.

Once again, thank you for your visit and constructive critics, we hope that you had a nice journey back home and to have the pleasure of serving you again in our hotels worldwide ensuring you in advance of our best intentions at all times.

We have just returned from our 5th visit. We were not disappointed with anything. It really feels like we come home when we stay at the Barcelo Corralejo Bay.
Check in was simple and efficient and we loved our room overlooking the pools. The food as always was excellent and we felt that the menu and choices were improved on last year (not that we had any complaints last year at all).
Relaxing by the pool during the day was peaceful and the new daytime entertainment was good fun and varied. We loved the evening shows also, the acts were brilliant particularly loving the Bee Gees and The Beatles. The new entertainments Manager, Paulo, was brilliant and worked hard ensuring everyone was happy and included if they wanted to be.
A lot of comments have been made that the hotel needs a bit of updating decor wise, and whilst we wouldn’t disagree, we would say that hotel is as spotlessly clean as it has always been.
All the staff at the hotel are an absolute credit to the Barceló, they work hard, they are happy, they are helpful, they care and we love them all. We must make a special mention and say thanks to Irene, the Guest Experience Manager, and Jenni, Hilario and Jose in the restaurant. We have already ready rebooked for next year and can’t wait to see you all again in June.
If you haven’t been to the Barcelo Corralejo Bay, try it, you will not be disappointed.

Hotel situated close to the centre of Corralejo quiet location. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms very clean as was the hotel generally. Food high quality with a large choice at breakfast and evening meals. Would would certainly return.

Just returned from a fantastic 8 days in the Barcelo, would like to say a big thank you to all the staff from Check in at Reception to Restaurant, bar and pool bar. I know people say it needs upgrading, which it does but staff go to huge effort to keep everything spotless. From the moment you arrive you just begin to chill and relax. Thanks also to the spa staff, we had a very relaxing massage on our second day. Finally a big thank you again to Irene the guest experience manager who goes out of her way to talk to guests and for the pressecco and fruit for our Anniversary and again for my Birthday.
This was our 4th stay and will see you all again in March 2019. Cannot wait ☀️

From start to finish my wife and myself had the best week, this holiday was partly to celebrate her birthday. We had booked a deluxe room with a hot tub and thanks to Irene the guest experience manager we were given an upgrade to a suite with hot tube and sea veiw. Also a lovely surprise awaited us when we entered the room, chocolate strawberries, a small cake and a bottle of champagne on ice. Also a nice touch was the fact that even thought we arrived late evening there was a cold buffet in the restaurant for us to help ourselves to.
The hotel is kept spotlessly clean and all the staff we encountered we polite and helpful. We had booked bed and breakfast break. On entering the restaurant in the morning you are greeted by a table with bottles of champagne and fresh orange, so a nice bucks fizz to start your day. The choices are plentiful and I'd be surprised if you couldn't find something to eat. I can't comment on the evening meals as we didn't use the restaurant in the evening.
The swimming pool area is clean and quite and never had any trouble getting a sun lounger.
The location is perfect, only 100 meters from the main strip, which has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. Also a visit to music square in the evening is worth it.
The beach is only 75 meters away. You can hire sun loungers and there are a couple of beach bars for drinks and food.
If you don't mind getting a little dusty i would recomend going on the dune buggys.
We would highly recommend this hotel and i can understand why they have so many return visitors. We will be returning in April.

Therefore, we always ensure a variety of hot and cold, sweet and salty options as well as fresh fruits, different kinds of cereals and yogurts.
