family guy was just amazing,so funny classic comedian & also 100%retro entertainment they were brilliant, samantha & her brass monkeys were so friendly and put on a great show
we have always gone half board but we have already booked to go back next year and going all inclusive as we met alott of family's there and we never heard any negatives regarding you get treated differently.

Just got back from a very enjoyable 7 day stay at the Coma Gran with my wife, four year old son and two year old daughter. This was our first holiday abroad with the kids and the resort and hotel fully met our expectations. The hotel and apartment was clean and well maintained.  We booked up with breakfast included only but ended up upgrading to eat in the hotel restaurant for two evenings. We were impressed by the variety and quality of the food for both breakfast and dinner and our son and daughter enjoyed the lower buffet bar especially for younger children. We ate out for the rest of the time and particularly liked the Cafe De La Mar restaurant with its open air barbecue. Be aware that many of the restaurants and bars adjacent to the hotel serve very similar food to one another and you have to venture further if you wish to experience more traditional Spanish dishes.

The hotel is primarily geared up for those with young children with plenty of activities to join in with.  A fair amount of time was of course spent at the pools which were clean and suitable for all. I would imagine however that the smaller toddler pool gets very busy at peak season. Sa Coma beach was excellent and just a 5minute walk from the apartment. The close proximity of the beach to the hotel was a key factor for us for getting the kids and all the beach paraphernalia there with minimum hassle. The mediterranean sea was clear and warm and amazing to swim in. The sea was at a shallow paddling depth on the shore for quite a way out which made it safe for our son to play.

I felt that Thomson had gone to great lengths to make the Coma Gran a successful hotel for guests with young families and had clearly ensured that their staff based there were fully briefed and well trained. We found them very approachable and helpful.  The crèche and kids club facilities on site provided professionally run sessions which allowed us to relax and have a very small break from the kids to recharge our batteries.

It's been said on several of the previous reviews but feel I also have to mention the excellent Thomson resident entertainment team who add a lot of value to the Coma Gran. The team ran a busy schedule of activities during the day and compered the proceedings in the evenings ensuring the mix of entertainment was fit for all ages.  'Rossy Essex' in particular has a natural rapport with kids and adults alike and is a born entertainer; his  boundless enthusiasm and giving nothing less than 100%. Whatever they pay him, it's not enough.

The Coma Gran is a great hotel but it is very much a family resort and those who are looking for a quiet base may find that there is too much activity for their liking.

If I was the manager of the Coma Gran I would change four things:
1.  Make the music at the pool area quieter (background music) when activities are not taking place.
2. Start the kids entertainment in the evening slightly earlier.
3. Serve Spanish tapas at the poolside cafe bar.
4. Discourage guests from reserving sun loungers by the pool with towels unless they are in the pool (even though we only had trouble finding available loungers in a good spot on one or two occasions).

We have just returned from a week stay at the Coma Gran and my only complaint is that we didnt stay longer! We went self-catering and the appartment was perfect and very clean. It was cleaned 6 days out of 7 and being on the fourth floor was lovely and quiet-which having a 4 year old was great. We chose this hotel as it was a family based holiday and we couldnt have asked for more. The Thomson reps were brilliant and the entertainment for the children was excellent-especially Rossy Essex-he deserves a massive pay rise for his tolerance and patience and fun with the children. The entertainers always had time for the children and there was always something for them to do, including night time which our little girl loved. Yes Sa Coma is a small resort but it depends what you want-we didnt go far from the hotel as it had everything we needed and our daughter loved it there. I think anyone who didnt enjoy this holiday are hard to please as it has everything needed for a family holiday and we would definitely go back

Room Tip: we emailed the hotel before we went asking for a room away from the outdoor stage and this is what w...

Just got back from 11day stay at Sa Coma Gran with my husband, 4yr old and 18month old and couldn't fault this hotel at all... The room's are a good size one of the biggest i've stayed in compared to some hotels, we were room 526 which had a pool view and part sea view which was really nice. The kids pool was busy when we were there can only amagine what it would be like when school holidays. Kids clubs and Creiche was just fab and so much going on around the pool all day then you have the night stuff, which can be a bit noisy but never stopped my two from sleeping. We stayed self catering we did use the pool bar on a few occasion's for lunch but got the feeling the staff didn't really want to work there, you would take a seat and they would walk past you! You had to ask for a menu and this just seemed to take ages to get one and order, but once you got your food it was nice and reasonably priced. The beach is right round the corner which is beautiful and clean, with a walk way with no cars etc that you can let the kids walk my 18month old just thought this was fab getting out his buggy... You can walk along to the neighbouring towns which are really nice also. The Dolphin Cafe at the beach done fab lunches. Over all i would deff recommend this hotel and resort not a big resort but my,husband and boys had a fab time.

Room Tip: Room 526 over lookin pool and part sea view.

Just got back from a 2 week stay at the Coma Gran.

Me and my husband took our 3 small babies (2 year old twins and 1 year old) and we did not find anything in this hotel a challenge.

We went self catering so we could feed the kids when and what we wanted so did not eat in main restaurant but did eat at the snack bar a few times and I thought the staff were very friendly and food reasonable. One lady said that she was waiting an hour for her order to be taken but the bar really isnt that big - pretty easy to just let someone know you are waiting if they have not seen you.

Bit annoying that people put their towels on sunbeds - however that is the case in most hotels I have stayed in and if you cant beat them join them, I went down at 9:30 to reserve a bed and always got one right next to the baby pool.

Room was so clean and had a brilliant balcony, meaning we could put the kids to bed after the kids party in the evening and we could sit on the balcony with a glass of wine watching late entertainment. Only thing I would say is I think the kids entertainment does start a little late (8:15) might not be that late for most but for mine was a little as they would eat about 6 but wasnt really a big deal. Thomson reps are excellent, so good with the kids - and after all that is what this holiday and hotel is all about.

Overall a brilliant holiday and I do think some people do tend to make things difficult for themselves and love finding stuff to moan about.

Def not a 2* or 3* hotel, deserves the 4* it has.
