“Some people complain too much!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2012

Just arrived back from Coma Gran last night with my wife (25) and two sons ( 6 and 3) and i can say the hotel and resort was spot on. Reception staff very friendly and well spoken english. Hotel room was great, we had a massive balcony thanks to someones review on here. Our room was 430. The balcony is a size of a small back garden, the kids loved it. The whole hotel was very clean including the pool area. We went self catering which i would do again as i think the hotel food is very expensive. Plenty of lovely restaurants to choose from. JJ'S and Alantic were our favourites. The reps were spot on. I know everyone keeps on about Rossy Essex but i have to say if i ever won the lotto and brought a hotel he would be the first person i would employee, he is a great addition to thompson and the hotel, greg was also great. You could tell fab Faye was getting bored all ready through the busy season. Pool side bar was fine, nice food and good prices for food and drinks. I do feel like they could do with a couple of extra staff as the service was a bit slow but never a real issue. The pool was always busy but not too busy to complain about it, we never had trouble to find a sunbed unless you wanted a sunbed right at the front. If we decide to go back to Sa coma in the future we will be coming back here. Kids enjoyed riding the horses next to the beach, the land train, horse and cart rides, family pedal bikes, all in Sa Coma. My advice would be to get the land train into Cala Millor as there are big bouncy castle and go- karts for the kids to enjoy which Sa Coma hasn't got. Just a couple of things i would change if i was the manager. 1)TV's in the poolside bar so you could watch the football without having to go inside the hotel away from the kids, 2) Cut down the tree next to the stage so people on the balconys and see the stage when the kids are in bed! Thanks Coma gran for a fab holiday!

Room Tip: Room 430, massive balcony!!

Our 3rd visit to the Coma Gran in 3 years and superficially nothing has changed. The rooms are clean and tidy and the bathroom has a great power shower with plenty of hot water at all times. The reps try their best to get the children involved and our 4 year old loved seeing Thomson the Dog. Now the down sides - we left this morning and were waiting in the reception at 6.30 a.m. to be picked up to go to the airport and, yes you have guessed it, there were a steady stream of people with their towels reserving sunbeds for the day. The 'T Time Live' show for children was a bit more half hearted and amateur than previous years on on 2 of the 7 nights Thomson the Dog didn't turn up. Agree with the comments on the staff at the snack bar - surly and rude. Still like the hotel and we had a good holiday but it does need to raise its game.

i just read some neg reviews and felt i had to defend this wonderful hotel.we(40,35,7,3)have stayed at this hotel for 7 years, and we just returned on thurs(21st) from yet another brill hol.the hotel staff are excellent especially fernando, the snack bar staff too, they are polite and very friendly and always ready to help.the hotel is always very clean, you can see the cleaning staff take pride in their work and in 7 years we've never spoken to anyone who had been ill through any pool or hotel cleansiness.Thomson staff are also excellent.the kids club staff are fab,zoe and robin were brill with my two kids. The entertainment staff weren't the best though, ross is truly a star, the best. Faye, too was excellent, very professional and fun, but that's about it, the other entertainment team were very average, clueless, they didn't seem to know what they should be doing, how to do it or when to do it. but that said we can't reccommend this hotel enough. we are booking again for next year. we go self catering and having spoken to people who went all inclusive we seem to have done the right thing. on average they paid £1500 more to go all inclusive and we ate out every night, had ice creams and drinks whenever we wanted them and spent nowhere near that figure but the hotel food and drinks for the all inclusive guests are excellent quality according to the people we spoke to.This is an excellent hotel!

We have recently returned from this hotel and had a fantastic time. We were a party of 10 (6 adults and 4 children) and the hotel had something for everybody. The hotel itself was spotless. The rooms were spacious and perfect for a family of four. The reception area was clean, bright and airy and staff were extremely accommodating. The restaurant was lovely and the staff did all they could to accommodate us and get us a table for all 10 of us. The selection of food was varied and there was a lovely 'boat shaped' island at child height so the children could see and get their own food. The entertainment in the hotel was fantastic. The four Thomson reps were extremely enthausiastic and did everything to make sure that everyone had a super time. The children are still talking about Rossy Essex and all of the games and dances they did! Thoroughly enjoyable holiday and a hotel we would all like to visit again - we'd go back tomorrow if we could! Thanks Coma Gran for a very enjoyable and memorable holiday.

Very disappointed with this hotel as had really good reviews. Definitely not a 4* hotel more like a 2*, 3* at a push! The reception staff where really good but that was all the hotel had going for it . The snack bar staff where really rude, had to wait an hour one day for them to even acknowledge us at lunch time. We stayed here for a week at half term and spent every day at the beach because the pool was manic and you could never get a sunbed. The day we left to go home there were people Queuing at the doors at seven to put their towels on the sunbeds. On the posative side the food in the evening was ok and the hotel was clean. If you are going, do not go all inclusive as they treat you completly differently. You are not allowed a pint of beer you can only have half and the cocktails are awful. We normally go with Thomsons twice a year and this has got to be the worst holiday we have had. Thank goodness we only went for a week.
