Really enjoyed my stay in this resort. The kids had a great time in the pool and it was very relaxing.
The only thing I did not like was the evening buffet. We went half board but I would not do that again. There are lovely places to eat out in the centre of the town.
Rudi was very good in the resturant and was always trying to make sure everyone was looked after.
The evenongentertainment was fine and the kids really liked it. They did not use the kids club as they were a bit young for it!!
All in all the rooms were clean and comfortable and it is a 5/10 min walk to the town and probably a 15 min walk to the beach.
The apartments are clean and spacious and all public areas are kept in immaculate condition so no problems with cleanliness. The reception staff were helpful and the snack bar staff were very friendly and polite. The location was good and the beach was a short walk away. On the down side the block we stayed in, room 110 was overlooking a disused building which was dirty and unsightly, also our balcony overlooked the main entrance to the reception so all deliveries and guest drop offs were visible at all times of night and day. This interfered with our ability to have undisturbed sleep and enjoy sitting out on our balcony. For that reason I would not stay at the Cala D'or Playa again unless I had a pool view to the rear of the building. Also don't pay for the wifi daily rate 2 euro because the signal was bad and drooped quite a bit when trying to use it in my room. There is free wifi in the reception and pool area so unless you really need wifi don't pay. « Show less
Top Tip: Don't stay in room 110.
Just returned after a 5 night stay in a one bedroom apartment here. Nice room, clean, large balcony (overlooking the front reception & road so a little noisy at times) great location, 5 min walk from back gates of hotel in one direction Cala Esmeralda beach, the other Cala Gran beach. Stayed in this area on many occasions, first time in this aparthotel. Definitely great for families with young children as the entertainment team & facilities for children are great....a little annoying for us traveling without children (take earphones to zone out sunbathing by the pool!) but we weren't the only middle aged couple there, a lot of couples there on their own. We self catered so didn't use onsite restaurant.hubby went to one of the various spar shops close by to source breakfast each morning, i.e.~ warm croissants then we ate out in a different restaurant each evening in the town, about a 10-15 min walk away. A typical meal of 2 main courses & 2 drinks will cost between €35-€50 at most. Nice choice, something for everyone. And for tapas, go to La Bodega restaurant, but sit at the back in the courtyard for a more romantic setting! Would happily stay at this aparthotel again, and definitely return to the area as it's wonderful
Stayed here for 11 nights in a Superior room (315) large rooms and balcony had a sea view, bathroom had a bath, shower and hairdryer, plenty of room for 4 people though there was just 2 of us. whole hotel is very clean, all staff very friendly and helpful, but special mention to Rudi the waiter, never stops, always busy but always has a smile and time for you. Lovely guy! Hotel is definitely geared for families, lots of activities for everyone. Food in the bar was lovely and reasonably priced, as was the drinks. Perfect location in Cala d Or, close to shops, bars and restraunts. One of the best hotels we've stayed in. An honest 3 star but with a few tweaks could be 4 star.
