stayed at this hotel from 3rd-7th october,I took my 5yrd as a birthday present, great flight over, but oh my goodness what a long transfer!!!!when we eventually arrived, was pleased to see catalina who I had spoken to the day before, had rang to request a pool view room, and bless them we had a lovely room in block four, with a fab pool view, so thankyou to her,the apartments are very tired and worn imo,and could do with a serious makeover, but given the hammering they take over a long season,am not surprised, but they are spotlessly clean,as are the grounds, and pools.I have to mention the team of thomson reps, all of them, because they are great,so helpful, and put 100 percent into everything they do,making every show fresh even tho they have done it ova a thousand times im sure.
My only negative points have to be some of the other guests with children were more interested in having a good drink than supervising their children, some of whom were really spiteful,my little one was pushed over in the splash pool and hit her head, which put her off going back, another little toddler pooed all ova the slide and steps,i did tell the owner!! but all she did was wipe the step with a wet wipe and walked off, which meant we couldnt use that area as it wasnt very pleasant!!!lots of kids just left to their own devices, young kids, but i guess i may be a little too protective....the other was the food,we upgraded to a.i. on arrival because its cheaper, but it was aweful, now i am not a fussy eater at all,but i came home from holiday lighter than when i went,so a bit of a bonus there!!!.I would say eat out,but what with the euro very poor at the minute, with a family its gonna be expensive.
Overall its a lovely area, lovely manager, who took the time to talk to me everyday, great thomson reps, its ideal for famlies who wanna have fun, because you get bucket loads here, but beware of the 1hr plus transfer time.Would I go again, def, just to see t.time live.......hilarious.

Room Tip: call the hotel to request pool view.

Just thought i would write a quick reveiw on the Bonaire again. 3rd time we have been and the 3rd time it didn't dissapoint. Having emailed the hotal direct and requesting block 4 they put us back in the same room we had been in before and even left a note saying welcome back and a bottle of bubbly for us to drink. This hotel is excellent for parents of young children, its an all round family place. We went self catering but upgraded to all inc because we knew what the food would be like and that it would work out cheaper for us to do this as sophie would be free. And like the previous times the food didn't dissapoint. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner all catered for every taste and if you tired of the dinning room you could always go to the italian at night for something different, My only complaint would be that sometimes the food wasnt hot enough but there was a microwave if you wanted to give your food a blast. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the gardens, pools and rooms are all kept clean and tidy and well maintained. The waiters work hard to ensure your always fed and watered and do this with smiles on their faces though watch out for Dani bringing you drinks even if you havnt asked for them, i felt oblidged to drink them and staggered home on several occasions lol. The manager is always around should you wish to speak to him and he as always a smile and a friendly ola for you. The Thomson team are excellent, they themselves are happy to help and entertain you through the day and night and even stick notes through your door to say hope you had a good time on any of the excursions you go on, which is a nice touch. The rooms are basic but have all you need and with maid service 5 times a week you always have fresh towels and made up beds.
All in all we had a great and relaxing time, Sophie loved it and i think we will return next year for sure.

We stayed at the Bonaire mid September for two weeks, the group consisting my wife, our two year old daughter and me, booked through Thomson on a self catering basis.

The hotel was exactly how it was described in the brochure, clean, tidy, friendly staff and very family orientated.

We spent a lot of time around the pools where our daughter was quite happy and safe, the splash pool with the pirate ship is brilliant for little ones allowing them a little independance in relative safety.

The snack bars supplied good quality holiday food, though by the end of the two weeks, my wife, who is vegetarian, began to get a little sick of the cheese and tomato pizza/omlete option.

Cala Bona itself is only a 5 mnute walk away with a number of nice resturants dotted around the harbour, Cala Millor is around 35mins walk away.

We didn't really utilise the evening entertainment as afetr a hard day swimming, our little girl was in bed for 8 o'clock.

We booked three of Thomson's creche sessions, each two hour in duration, good value for money and very well run.

There is an extra craft session for the little ones a few times a week of which the parents stay with them for 3/4 of an hour, once again fantastic!

We would definitley recommend this hotel and would like to thank all of the staff (Thomsons and Hotel) and will definitley consider returning again.

i came away with my husband and 3 kids.

bonaire is a nice hotel but a bit dated. the rooms are quite small especially with just one bedroom and a safo bed for the kids!!

The weather was nice and hot which meant we had a lovely time by the pool and one day at
the poor excuse for a beach in cala bona!

the hotel food was ok, a bit school dinner so after we ate there one nigt we decided to eat out the rest.

we stayed for a few nights of entertainment which was ok... the entertainments team consisted of flipper who just loved himself a bit too much!!!! and rachel and chloe who were a brilliant double act. the hotel entertainment was very poor and on very late, main acts didnt come on till 9.30ish!! the t-time live was ok, the reps did try very hard but its kids hour so why do parents join in and crowd the dance floor? is it really needed? let them get on with it themselves!.... bingo everynight is a bit of a bore, do they really want to treat us like 60 year olds night after night????.... best night of the week was probly cinderella which the kids did love and the show was by the thomson staff. again though it consisted of bad jokes bad acting and people trying to dance and be funny(flipper) when they really werent!!!.... as for the rest of the team they put effort in but wy are people made to go on stage when they clearly do not want to be?? (ie bored kids club reps) then the night ended with again flipper not resisting to grab the microphone of another rep and jabble on about something (probly himself again).... the club dances at the end were a good touch to end the night however. after sitting and watching a show the disco time was good to either sit and listen to music or have a dance.

my kids did go to kids club a couple of times but she didnt enjoy it too much like previous hotels. and the few times i did drop them off and pick them up the staff seemed very unbotherd, not very chatty and smiley, and one young lady with bright blond hair and a dodgy tan didnt even know my kids name after a few times of her being there which i thought was very rude as there were only about 10 kids there at the time. however my son loved little cook ben he was always fun of energy and smiley!

FIRSTLY i would like to start by stating to everyone this is a FAMILY RESORTS holiday destination...... some people need to look up what a family holiday means.... it means kidsclub, activities, music around the poolside, entertainment, late night music etc..

some people come on holiday and i can clearly see from the reviews look at all the negatives, if you are not willing to participate in the kids disco to keep your children happy, and join in with the entertainment to enjoy your time, have a game of bingo you could win some cash etc then wy come??? if you like to pile your kids to kids club, or put them to bed at 7pm then wonder why the entertainment starts so 'late'(maybe because the entertainers finis at about 5pm and are back in about 7.30...are they not aloud a break????) or sit back relax and hope the staff take care of the children, why not go on a couples or gold oliday WITHOUT your children

family resort hotels are ideal place to go for families to have FUN.... the sun was shining for my whole 2 week holiday and my 2 children(3 and 6) loved everything about it. we went to the water park aqua land one day which was recomended by the lovely holiday reps, we joined in wit the quizzes and even won a bottle of jubbly .. and the kids went to te cocolate party and the water fight which is a brilliant added extra for them.

the food in the otel was to a good standered.... we were self catering so we also tried out a few local resturants too.

little cook ben was brilliant with my children and ross loved him. also callum at the desk was always happy to help and say hello and was very honest about the trips they offered there which is a change from some reps who just want to sell you anything. e sent us to aqua land and was a brilliant day for all.

Now for te entertainment team. ravin racheal, flipper dip and chloe-oke they were fab. working so hard day and nigt they really do deserv some credit. we ave been to many family holidays with thomson and i must say some of the entertainment is of low standerd but here at the bonaire its top class. they were always around for help and never pused anyone into joining in which again i have seen cases of. good job

the ONLY cririsism i do have is the fact there were not a single rep on my coach transfer i needed to ask ow long to the hotel as my small child wanted the toilet but there was no one there to ask. But when we got the hotel there was a young man ready to check us all in and take our cases for us as an added extra.

all in all bonaire is for FAMILYS, its a FUN holiday, dont be misserable, join in with everything and enjoy maybe the only holiday you ave a year!!!!!
