This was one of those restaurants when nearly everything on the menu looks interesting and attractive and we were not disappointed. Excellent range of local wines at reasonable prices and also some by the glass. All our dishes were full of flavour and perfectly cooked and the final bill was very good.

This restaurant serves nice food and is a bit more classy then the trattorias you see everywhere. The card is good with nice food. We enjoyed our diner here with another couple that stayed at the same hotel (Le Volpi).

I have been in this local for a dinner, the place is very quaint and clean, the staff very friendly.
I hate the ham of "montagnana", very very good and then " gli gnocchi" very fantastic, all accompanied with a good Italian wine.

Mario with Venice day trips took us here after our tour at the Caseificio Traverso cheese farm. Mario order for us and the food was great. The place was lovely and cozy.

We arrived at Trattoria da Sgussa at 7.30pm (time the restaurant opened) which was recommended by the staff at Le Volpi (which also supplies their wines there). Service was friendly and professional but we had to wait awhile for our bill and coffee to arrive as the restaurant was packed full towards the end of the evening with only 3 wait staff working on a busy Saturday night.

The menus are in Italian and wait staff didn't speak much English but that for us made it a more authentic dining experience. Thankfully my husband's Italian got us what we wanted to eat!

The pastas are all homemade and cooked to perfection. Portions are just perfect if you are having 2-3 courses. My husband and I shared the lamb chops which was cooked just medium exactly how we liked it.

Prices were reasonable - pastas range around €7-9 and mains from €12 onwards.

Desserts were heavenly as we ordered a semifreddo made with Nutella & amaretti and coconut mascarpone with fresh strawberries.

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and reservations are a must on a weekend.
