The hospitality of Katerina the host is just wonderful without being over imposing. I stayed here for 4 nights with a group of friends, it was a very relaxing holiday. The place is within driving distance of Greve and lots of other great days out such as Volterra. The farmhouse is rustic and beautiful and full of Italian charm. I would 100% return!

My husband and I had a lovely 6 night stay at Poggiarelli, just out of Greve in Chianti.
We were greeted by Caterina the owner who spoke pretty good English, she was warm and welcoming.
We requested a larger room with a kitchenette (family room for 3) as we were staying the week and wanted to be self sufficient with our meals. The room was very clean and spacious with amazing views over Chianti, just stunning! Our bathroom was quite unusual with the toilet/bidet on one level, the basin on another, then the shower at the top of 7 stairs, we made sure we didn't have too many vinos before a shower!
We had a pedestal fan which was better than nothing, it was very warm here in August.
There's a lovely terrace where you can sit and have a meal or simply just have a vino or two and enjoy the beautiful view and tranquillity of Tuscany. The pool area was perfect, a lovely large and clean pool with lounges and umbrellas, the perfect spot to chill for a few hours.
The drive into town was about 5 minutes, there are plenty of places to eat and a there's a great little supermarket. Market day on Saturday in the piazza in Greve is a must, the local produce is amazing.
There are various drives to other chianti's in the region, such a pretty drive.
We took the local bus into Florence which was so cheap and stress free, the only way to go as the traffic and parking can be a nightmare!
Caterina offers many types of accommodation at Poggiarelli, it may not be 4 star, but definitely clean and comfortable. Wifi was a bit hit and miss which wasn't a huge problem.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend staying here to enjoy true Tuscany.

Room Tip: Rooms upstairs have a beautiful view.

A very nice location, the view is great and very nice and well set room with plenty of day light. The hospitality is what impressed me the most, they helped us when Sunday we had a flat tyre. Not easy to find but the owner provided on the phone very clear directions. A place to go back

My partner and I stayed Fattoria Poggiarelli during May 2014 and were overwhelmed with the hospitality and helpfulyou could easily moonlight as a travel agent for the area.

Not only did we have one of the most romantic weekends of our time together during our stay but also the best and most romantic dinner at Ristoro di Lamole following Simmons direction. Simon went above and beyond to then fix the rest of the stay in Italy given our poor Italian.
We will definitely be back and highly recommend Fattoria Poggiarell!

We really enjoyed our stay in this house up in the hills situated in the middle of the vinyards.
It's definitely not a five star hotel but the owners are amazingly kind and caring and they gave their best to make our stay unforgetable.
our room was in good condition and the breakfast was really good.
a real gem is the pool behind the house with an amazing view over the vinyards and sun all day long. we spent two days just hanging out by the pool just because it was such a great view and so quiet and peaceful.
its also the perfect spot to start a day tour through the tuscany valleys, to do wine tasting, to go to grewe or to florence for a day.
there is also a really cool restaurant that one of the owner recommened to us. trattoria l' antico forno in ferrone. it was absolutely outstanding!
