We truly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Carla. Our room was small but fit our needs well. I wished we had a bigger balcony...it accommodated a small bistro set only. I assume that rooms and balconies are proportionate. Laura welcomed us the evening we arrived, after a long train ride. She graciously offered a cappucino and espresso upon check in..what a lovely gesture. She answered all my questions as I was seeking more "local" suggestions rather than "tourist". We met Patrizia at breakfast the next morning, when she acknowledged each table. She introduced herself and quickly recognized that we were new to the hotel. Breakfast was presented so beautifully...lots to choose from. The hotel itself is very contemporary, much to my liking. The even offer bikes and suggestions for local trips. We took the offer on our last day and had we known how much fun it was to cycle through the town, we would have it biked throughout our stay. We biked to the neighbouring community of Buonosola, which was a small port with opportunity to swim and enjoy the sun on the large rocks...less tourists. Easy to get to because Levanto has a bike path that allows cyclists to travel freely. I highly recommend staying in Levanto...it is a beautiful beach town, with nightly events in the piazza, which we enjoyed. I encourage the hike between some of the Cinque Terre communities ....a great work out and incredible views. Hotel Carla is a beautiful hotel located well...to enjoy the Cinque Terre while also embracing the locale activities, cuisine and people of the area.More
