Ok so I'm not going to list all the problems with the rooms because they are well documented on here, and also the lovely staff were incredibly courteous and generous with sorting out my problems.
The hotel exterior and pool area are nice, beautiful view of the bay and also you get a cocktail on arrival. We left early and were told we would be charged a penalty, which they then waived without is even complaining. If you're not too fussy about your room then I'd say it's a great place. The staff are the nicest I've come across in my many visits to Italy. I think with the fabulous location, and some work updating the rooms and modernising the furniture, this hotel could be a wonderful boutique hotel.

Having searched many hotels in Ischia, and unfamiliar with the island, we decided to book Hotel Myage. After numerous searches and past reviews, we decided we wanted to stay close to the port and was very happy that we did so. Right outside of the hotel were the city buses that took you to Ischia port and other locations throughout the island. The food at the restaurant was very good and the staff was very helpful in any way you needed them. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The only negative thing was wifi was inconsistent with service. You needed to move to the right spot but that might be because the island doesn't provide great internet service. We would definitely go back!

We loved the location of this hotel as it is only 10 minutes to the port in Ischia and overlooks both the port and all of the surrounding islands. The views are truly spectacular. What we liked most about the hotel were the views, the dining on the terrace, and the service. The hotel staff are all super friendly. The breakfast choices are also very varied and well done.

What we did not like was the quality of the room. It was a deluxe room with a sea view so we expected better furnishings, a mattress cover for the bed, soft linens, and a shower that actually worked. The view and the terrace area were wonderful, yet the bathroom was dated and the shower head did not function well at all. On our last day, we had no hot water between 8 and 9 am when we tried to shower.

The bed had only a set of sheets on the mattress and an old fashioned, heavy bed spread that we had to take off the bed. There were two pillows, both not very soft and with no feather option. Between the bed and the bath room, we would give this hotel a max of 3 stars.

Lastly, if you don't like stairs then do not get rooms 401 to 406 as there are several (e.g. 100 or more) steps up and down to the rooms.

The hotel has so much potential and the staff are truly outstanding. We were disappointed that the room did not match that level of service.

We were put in a room #101 that is a complete shame to this hotel. It has absolutely nothing to do with the pictures advertised. It is a mouldy dungeon, right behind the kitchen, in a whole under the recycling collection bins. There is no ocean view as we are facing the back of kitchen with the staff being loud till 11:30 pm. We have a 2 year old child that came with us. All I can say, I don't think anyone who paid to stay here for vacation would enjoy this.. There is only one word - horrible! We asked to change the room and we were told the hotel is fully booked. If by tomorrow there is no other room available, we will have to find another accommodation. What a shame given the setting of the hotel is so nice.

Lows:
I wouldn't say the lows would ruin you stay here or make you regret checking in, but i must mention a few.
Wi-fi signal is a mess and the internet speed is the crappiest i've ever experienced. Thus, when thinking of using your own internet from your smartphone, just forget it! There's almost no GSM signal. Anyways, with a couple hundred Euros investment in the hotel's internet infrastructure, they could make the place a heaven (as it already is, judging by the suroundings and the hotel amenities).
The rooms are ok and clean but definitely NOT a 4 stars hotel. The bathrooms are clean but the plumings seem a little old, the showers need some fixing and some extra-cleaning.
The personnel are great: Giuseppe and Emanuela especially. Not all the personnel is a good english speaking. The managers (which are also the owners) are ok but they always seem a little bit stressed which make u sometimes feel also stressed when talking to them.
The restaurant has exceptional food but kind of pricy. The prices match those from the restaurants of the porto or from downtown Ischia.
They could make some improvements and investments in the acces to the beach down below the hotel, thus, transforming it in an honnest 4 stars hotel. For the moment there's no acces to the beach down there.
When checking out you will also pay a 2 EURO / day for person which represent the "sogiorno tax", so make sure you have some extra money when checking out. They don't include it in the booking price and don't tell you untill you check out.
The reception night-shift should snort more silently.

Highs:
Superb location, one of the best of Ischia and also a very practical one. Close to Ischia Porto, with bus station just outside the hotel (5 minutes with the bus, at max.). Superb views from the terrace and from the pool also. Thee pool is quite big as we were afraid that it could be a small one (the management pictures of the properties, in general, can be sometimes deceiving on certain booking websites). There's also a hot water mini-pool where which you can enjoy at night ;). Overall, i think is one of the best places in Ischia where you could stay.
Iwill definitively come back here and i'm already recommending it to all my friends.

Room Tip: Hard to say, there are rooms which are considered to be superior but they are similar to economy ones. And vice versa.
