We primarily went to the restaurant on a Friday night to take in the show of traditional music and dance. It is advertised as a weekly event and was very well done. The music started with North American music, song in English but changed to Central American music song in Spanish. The band was very good with a good acoustic level for the area. The food - we started with a Ceasar Salad that had a lovely light untraditional dressing and had the paella for two for the main. The paella was good, minimal amount of very tasty seafood but no spicy sausage (contained lots of chicken). The Sangria contained a low level of alcohol and was very tasteful. The setting was quiet and lovely with the centre court and water fountain. The staff were first class. We felt that the prices were a little high for the food quality but was worth it with the show included. Recommended for a Friday night with the show.

Returned to see if anything had changed, well, obviously it had not. Food was quite pedestrian. The mosquitoes will eat you up under the table as they are breeding them in the fountains (no chlorination in water), service always great but that does little to excuse the poor food quality and need for repellent... Avoid, I will from now on and there are so many other great choices on the Calzada and surrounding barrios...

Very friendly and very accomodating staff. The food was delicious and the ambience was very romantic. There was also entertainment - singers nod dancers which was beautiful. They also encouraged guest participation but they weren't pushy. It was very very colorful and a lot of fun to go along with the great food.

The dinner we had at El Tranvia has got to be the WORST MOST DISGUSTING meal we've ever had at a restaurant. Forget about the fact that it was so overpriced. We wouldn't have mind the US-type pricing for a meal as long as it lives up to. But this meal was just plain and simple BAD! To give you an example, my parents ordered the paella and the shrimp looked and tasted like it was frozen and it had to be thaw out in a microwave.

We should've known better than to eat at a restaurant that was completely empty when the streets outside in Granada were alive and full of people. Other restaurants were packed with people and this one was empty except for us.

I do have to say that the service from our waiter was impeccable. The setting at this hotel was also fantastic. Too bad the food did not live up to these two things. If the food had been as a great as the service and the hotel setting, this would've been one great dinner!

To give the readers an idea for the type of restaurants we've been to and know what out of this world food should taste like, we've eaten at places like Castle Terrace in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The service, food and ambience of Tranvia are very good. We sat at a table in front of the restaurant so that we could watch the street performers on the busy street. I was with 3 other people and we all enjoyed our food though with potatoes and rice and plantains it could be a bit on the starchy side. Recommended.
