Really a amazing place with a wonderful Sunrise. The holy temple is also one of the Shaktipeeth of Navdurga.
To view Sunrise we stayed at Kunjapuri Guest House which is few step to temple. Right now the Guest House in sunder innovation, So not a right time to stay there. But if really want to enjoy peace & silence the this the place.
A must visit place if you are panning to visit Rishikesh.

Spiritually strong shrine. I enjoyed practising yoga here. Also this is away from the main city of Rishikesh so was peaceful.

There are three Shakti peeths in the adjacent region of Rishikesh. Surkanda devi, Kunjapuri and Chandrabadni. Kunjapuri is hardly thirty kilometers from Rishikesh, onway to Gangotri. From the alighting point there are nearly hundred stairs to be climbed to get to the temple. But the stunning view from the temple and the spiritual ambiance is rewarding. For the believers the importance of the place is due to the tongue of Sati Parvati having fallen at this hill after Lord Shiva decimated her body.

It is very nice temple on the top of the mountain (1573m). We started our way from Rishikesh at 4.30am and reached it 10 min before sunrise. If you are lucky and weather is clear you can see great view there. Sunrise was so beautiful and after it we went inside small temple dedicated to Goddess Durga and got beautiful puja. I have been there 2 times and it is really worth to visit it.
