My spouse and I went to Primland for a few days after our wedding for a "mini moon" and had the most wonderful time. We chose Primland for its beautiful location, luxurious accommodations, and outdoors activities - and it delivered on all of these promises and more! We stayed in the Pinnacle Cottage area in a Cedar Bluff Room, and it was possibly the most beautiful hotel room I've ever stayed in. There was a stunning view of the Dan River Gorge from the picture window, as well as from our private balcony. There was also a great view from the tub! (Don't worry, all of the bathroom windows are engineered for total privacy, but still offer great views and natural light!) The room came with a mini fridge and small desk area, as well as two lounge chairs and a giant comfortable bed. (Be sure to select your pillow preference, there are so many choices!)

The food was delicious at every turn. Elements offers breakfast buffet, and then 19th Hole is great for lunch or a casual dinner. Elements is the fancier option for dinner, and it was worth the price. The meal was relaxing and the service was top-notch. Try the elk and venison duo!

Our favorite part of the resort was the activities. We went for a horseback trail ride with Michelle and had so much fun. Then, we went clay shooting with Steve which was a ton of fun too. Steve was so patient and taught us all about the guns we were using and most importantly kept us safe. We also went hiking (there are tons of trails!) and took the observatory tour at night. BEAUTIFUL! Primland has one of the largest private telescopes on the East Coast and we saw stars, constellations, and galaxies in the clear sky. We also visited the spa, which has native american influences and provides relaxing and indulgent services. There is so much to do at Primland, you would be hard-pressed to do it all!

We would recommend Primland to any traveler, especially if you enjoy the outdoors but also like the amenities of a luxury resort.

Room Tip: Pinnacle cottages: you can choose "great view" or "good view" room. Good view is less expensive but the view is still incredible!

We spent 4 nights at Primland staying in Coopers Hawk Tree House. The resort provides the use of a complimentary SUV to travel to and from the lodge or you can use the complimentary shuttle service. The Tree House with its expansive furnished deck was very private and had absolutely stunning and breath taking scenery of the Kibler Valley, mountains, and Pinnacles of Dan. The suite was spacious and well appointed in an upscale rustic style. Breakfast (In Room Dining) served on our deck was so delightful enjoying the beautiful blue skies and great view- food arrived at the requested time and was hot and delicious! The golf course sits on top of the mountain and has spectacular views along with holes and greens that will challenge even the best golfer. Dinner on the outdoor terrace at the Lodge or in the Pub was casual. Service was efficient and portions plentiful- if you choose you can order from the Elements menu in place of the Pub menu. Regardless of which menu you choose, food was well prepared and delicious. We look forward to a return visit to this hidden gem in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Room Tip: The Tree Houses are outstanding and have spectacular scenery and ultimate privacy

Enjoyed a friend's birthday celebration with 16 friends this fall and the resort was amazing. Our check in was very pleasant, especially enjoying sparkling cider while Tristan and Meredith explained the layout of the property, dining options and the special AMEX amenities. Lunch, a lobster roll on the patio with a special Blue Ridge moonshine set the tone for what was a perfect beginning of a fun and relaxing weekend. The deco is a warm blend of elegance and mountain lodge flair, surrounded by mountains and forest with acres of trails and wildlife. There are numerous recreational opportunities. We especially enjoyed the ATV activity. It is quite dusty however so dress in dark jeans. Lucas assisted us to our huge Pinnacle Suite and instructed us on using the fireplace, TV, automatic drapes and pointed out the nearest trail. You can call for transportation to and from the lodge. The room and views are incredible. The first evening we had dinner at the Saloon, serving a country style buffet while entertaining blue grass music was performed. Fried chicken and ribs were delicious. Afterwards Cameron did a great job of collecting all of us and we sat by the outdoor fire until it was time to go to the observatory. Star gazing lasted about 2 hours and the facilitator was very enthusiastic and instructive. The next day sporting clay, golf, fly-fishing as well as time for the spa! Rosie gave a awesome massage. Dinner that evening was in a private dining room. The choices were amazing. The complete experience at Primland is certainly outstanding. A special thank you to Tristan, I left my contact solution at home and the sundry shop, housekeeping nor the front desk could help, I mentioned it to Tristan and she said she would have someone coming from town for the next shift pick some up for me! Most of the staff was helpful, there are a few however who seem inexperienced and not anxious to go the extra mile. Thank you,Tristan, for 'thinking outside the box!" What a birthday to remember!

Room Tip: Ask for a top room in Pinnacle, the bottom floor can hear the upstairs walking around.

Primland is an amazing resort in VA with so much to do and see. The lodge has gorgeous rooms with all the amenities. The cabins are equipped with all anyone could need. If you are a golf lover, the course has some great views. Be sure to visit the fabulous spa and have one of the wonderful treatments. The Elements restaurant has an extensive wine list and incredible food with a spectacular view .
Take an observatory visit at night to see the stars in the clearest sky over the mountains.
A secluded place you won't want to leave.

Room Tip: Lodge rooms have multiple views and all are great.

It is a first class resort which means if you are looking for a low cost getaway this isn't your place. However if you are looking for first class accommodations ,with first class service at appropriate prices, along with beautiful surroundings then do yourself a favor and check in at this resort...it's one of a kind!!

Room Tip: pick a room ,suite or cottage that has a good view of the blue ridge mountains...it's unbelievable.
