I enjoyed my stay. Although there was a problem with the thermostat in my room I was quickly moved to another room. Staff was very friendly. There are not any ice machines however they have complimentary bags of ice in the market. When I checked in my son was so excited to see the swans. The guy at the front desk too the time to walk over and show my son who was who. That was simply awesome because he didn’t have to do that.

We have stayed here in the past, but this was not as great of a stay! At the Sat night reception, it seemed as though there was some discrimination going on as far as getting drinks, which several people experienced! But nice hotel, good breakfast.

Our group of 32 was more than pleasantly pleased with the accommodations, the complimentary cocktails each evening, the restaurant on site was also very good. The rooms were large and very inviting. The quality of this hotel at the price offered for our group was beyond expectations!

This was our second stay at the IAD (Washington/Dulles) Embassy Suites. The first was in October, and then, only 5 months later, we were back.

On our first visit, we were on a business trip to Washington DC, while this time, we were on a much-deserved holiday.

We had flown into IAD from PHX, and would soon head out to The Inn at Little Washington, Washington, VA, before heading to Blackberry Farm, in Walland, TN. We knew the layout of the hotel well, and were warmly greeted, upon arrival. We are HHonors Diamond members, and ended up with an upgrade to Room 625, on the top floor, and off at the end of a short hallway – very quiet, and a lovely room. On our previous stay, we were in Room 321, which, while nice, was not up to Room 625, in several ways.

We stowed our luggage, and headed down to Marty’s, for a late Dinner. We had dined there, on our previous stay, so had an idea of their menu, and their wine list.

Room 625 was great, with a comfortable King bed, a small livingroom area, and a small kitchenette. It was similar our previous room, 321, in some ways, but it’s location, on the end of a side hall, made it better. The amenities were very similar, but I *think* that 625 was larger?

Our room featured a living room, a nice mini-bar area, and then the large separate bedroom. Our windows opened the outside of the hotel, so one DID have a view of the neighborhood, unlike room 321. Being in the far corner, it had views in two directions.

The King bed was comfortable, as were the pillows. I had added extra pillows, as is my habit with most Hilton properties, but those were not needed. We got a good night’s sleep, and had plenty of hot water in the morning for our shower in the combo tub/shower. There was a “Hilton issue” Cuisinart 1-2 cup coffee maker in the mini-bar w/ stocked coffee caddy (and plenty of coffee in the lobby, and the restaurant), plus a mini-fridge, that we did not use. The bathroom had a single sink, with adequate vanity space, and the lighting was pretty good for a hotel room. We had a large, flat-screen TV in both the living room, and the bedroom, and both functioned well. There were several AC outlets, as well as a few USB outlets, so we were able to charge up all of our devices. In all, a very comfortable room, and a very nice hotel, with convenient access to IAD. In this case, we had rented a car, for our drive to the Inn at Little Washington, and there was ample parking, right in front of the hotel.

The hotel, typical of many Embassy Suite properties, is built around a large, lovely atrium. In the case of this inn, the lobby restaurant, Marty’s, is at the back of that atrium area. There was a useful “business center” station, and then a small “convenience store,” just off the reservations desk. We did not get to use either the pool, the small “fitness room,” or the outdoor patio area, which looked different, than it did in October.

The next morning, we had a nice breakfast (included) at the “breakfast side” of Marty’s, and it was good.

Unfortunately, we did not have much time to spend, but it was nice to see the swans in the atrium lobby, once again.

Great service, from all of the staff, and a lovely, albeit short stay. While the room was very good, the highlight of this stay was the service from the staff. As we are at IAD often, either on our way to Washington, DC, or back home, we will definitely return to this inn.

Room Tip: Suite 625 is great, and very quiet
