If you are a camper, this is the place to visit. We go their often and love it. A beautiful location which accommodates everything from tents to huge class A motorhomes in spacious sites. We have a small 21' foot RV and are partial to sites 10 through 14 which have level pads and full hookups. For the animal lovers, a dog park is on the grounds and a few campsites also have enclosed pet yards. The camp store is well equipped and reastrants and fuel are nearby. Don't be surprised if a deer wanders through your campsite.

Room Tip: It depends on the size of your RV but any site is good.

You will not go wrong camping at KOA at Fancy Gap, Virginia. Great owners
Always very nice and helpful. Beautiful mountains near the area and lots of places to browse for special treasures. We camp about once a month at KOA at Fancy Gap

For my birthday this year, I wanted to go to a KOA we have not visited before and is rather close to home. Straight shot up 77 from Charlotte. And this one was a charming one for sure! We stayed Aug 11-Aug 13, the weather was nice and we had our dog, Bell with us to enjoy the mountains. The staff was super friendly and very helpful, and the grounds were nice and clean, very well maintained. I also checked out the bath houses - very nice, clean and updated.
Also the biggest surprise was the cute little deer that showed up on Friday morning at the back of the campground. The deer mingled among the campers and I got to pet him and had my picture made with him. What a treat !
The closest grocery store (Food Lion) other than the Dollar General is in Hillsville, which is about 8 miles away. So stock up first if you are not planning on going anywhere during your stay. The entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway is literally right around the corner! This was a great place to stay and we will return.

I would hve rated this gem a 5 if not for the unlevel sites and tight turns. This is a really well-kept park, super nice staff, nice little store. The sites need leveling, and the roads in the park are really narrow, with some steep hills,so I was holding my breath goi g down. Large, grassy dog park. The wifi worked extremely well,as did the cable tv. We camped in a 38 ft motorhome with a towcar.

This is a lovely mountain campground with graveled RV sites, a pool, picnic shelter, store - the usual KOA amenities. I booked a tent site and found a flat spot on mud. Couldn't switch sites on a Saturday as everything was full. There are several tent sites elsewhere in the campground on either grass or gravel - but beware 84-86.

Room Tip: Many RV sites make great tent sites - pay the extra to get shade and gravel.

Thank you for staying with us but to be fair to us you forgot to mention the 5 days of rain that occured before your arrival and that you had the option to move for your 2nd and 3rd night or receive a refund.
