Stayed one night in May 2018 during a motorcycle trip of the entire Blue Ridge Parkway. Great view of the Parkway from our private porch - we stayed in the "Chicken Coop" cabin. Had to travel back 5 miles to Fancy Gap to get something to eat as nearby restaurant had gone out of business. Recommend the Gap Deli which is right off the Parkway Fancy Gap exit. If travelling the Parkway South to North, stop there on your way to Lonesome Pines to save 10 miles of back-and-forth. Cell service good. We loved the cabin. It was clean, price fair, and management was very friendly. If we ever travel the Parkway again we would definitely stay at Lonsome Pines again.

Room Tip: Great View looking over the Blue Ridge Parkway

We rented this to start our trek along the Parkway. Thought since it was almost in the middle it would work, but we found that to view the parkway you really must move along it and stay as you go. The little cabin was perfect, the views were great, Very quiet and the front porch was our favorite place. It had a coffee pot and the bare essentials in the kitchen. We brought in extra coffee and a few other staples. The Fridge is a mini so keep that in mind if you are cooking while there. The bed was comfy and the cabin was clean. (I did wash all the dishes before using them) The fireplace is gas and turns on with an electric switch and it was all we used for heat while there. (temps dipped to the high thrities) If we are ever in the area again we will stay here.

Room Tip: We stayed in Cabin 2, but there are 10 others to chose from.

We had a wonderful time at Lonesome Pines, stayed in Cabin 7 for 3 nights. It was clean and cozy. We enjoyed the porch with rocking chairs, jacuzzi, fireplace and even a sauna. The kitchen was nice with all the essentials--the pots, pans and utensils looked new. We used the charcoal grill next to our cabin and the community camp fire pit one night. Tony, the person running the place, was very nice and gave us a good tip for a hike at New River Trail. We accessed it by Poplar Camp exit and even went horseback riding along the trail at Fosters Falls. Cabins are located right off Blue Ridge parkway. We went to Floyd VA for the Friday night Jamboree (less than hour away but worth it) and Chateau Morisette Winery the next day. Great place to stay. We would go back again.

Room Tip: we really liked cabin 7

My husband and I planned this trip in April and he found the Lonesome Pine Cabins for a great, relaxing stay after a busy football weekend in Raleigh-Durham. We chose #4 and couldn't be happier. Clean, cozy, really peaceful and great views. There's a jacuzzi, small kitchenette (understand other Cabins have bigger kitchenettes), outdoor grill, TV with satellite channels, porch swing, rocking chair, and fireplace. The views are great. Verizon cell service is fine, AT&T not so much. Several reviews mentioned Rap's at bottom of the hill as having good burgers. Alas, Rap's is closed and for sale. Drove 5 miles into town to get groceries. Made for a very relaxing and pleasant evening, but be sure you have your supplies - food and drink and save the trip. The proprietor communicated with us about our checking even though, at the time, he wasn't on- site. All went well.

We were in cabin 10, the room was pretty nice and the views out back (near the grill area) were excellent, but the hot tub jets spewed mold for hours. Location was ok and price was great, so a reasonable experience overall, but don't count on the Jacuzzi tubs.
