My husband and I stayed here for two nights while on a trip for our 10th wedding anniversary. We were traveling with our small dog and were so happy to find beautiful lodging that was also pet friendly. There was a very cute basket of doggie supplies, with towels, paw wipes, and home-made local dog treats. We were in the lovely and large Cornwall suite, which has a private balcony with views over the Blue Ridge Mountains. We loved the isolation of the property on a good number of acres, used for farming corn and growing produce used in the delicious breakfasts, cooked up by the innkeepers. While it is sometimes difficult not to be able to leave even a crate-trained dog alone in a room for even a short amount of time, say to go out to eat, there are lots of things to do with pets in this area. (We were able to leave our dog in the room to eat breakfast together downstairs.) The only slight problem we had was the loud AC unit located under our balcony. It was a bit disruptive at first, but we slept fine nonetheless. The innkeepers are super friendly and helpful and even gave us a non-highway scenic route to get to nearby Natural Bridge State Park. Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Loved the private entrance and balcony of the pet-friendly Cornwall Suite!

My hubby and I stayed overnight at Fox Hill B&B and were wowed by everything! We stayed in the Fairfield Room - it's own suite just off the back deck. It was very spacious, clean and comfortable with low lights and soft music awaiting us! The decor is country luxury! This is a boutique hotel in that you feel like a guest in someone's very nice home! We took advantage of the very relaxing whirlpool tub before bed, but not before we went outside to see the stars and sounds of distant coyotes! Breakfast was a three-course gourmet event! Cathy and Mike, the Innkeepers, had time to talk with us and are just so very nice and gracious! Mike's culinary talents not only include making his own sausage and bacon - it was all delicious! My only regret was only staying one night - I could live there for weeks! We're coming back to experience the gorgeous in-room fireplace in colder months! I hear fall is the most beautiful time in the Shenandoah Valley, so I must be sure to book in advance! Thanks, Cathy and Mike for such an outstanding experience!

Fox Hill B&B in Fairfield, VA is a great getaway destination. Located adjacent to the Blue Ridge mountains, it's a great headquarters for visiting the Blue Ridge, Natural Bridge, Staunton, Lexington and environs. What's great: breakfast (ask about Mike's homemade maple bourbon bacon, OMG, and homemade sausage); peaceful setting and evening walks in the fields; Cathy and Mike's hospitality and recommendations; and the ease of access to the rooms (private entrances). They feature pet-friendly accommodations, and the lobby area is available 24 hrs with snacks, local wines, Keurig coffee machine, etc. The rooms are very comfortable, with easy to control HVAC and ceiling fans to get just the right environment. And each also has a built-in gas fireplace. We shared great conversations with Cathy and Mike - wonderful hosts. We will definitely return when our travel plans bring us back to this area.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Fairfield Room, with private entrance just off the deck, could just step to the deck and enjoy relaxing outside

Cathy and Mike were great hosts. They provide information on attractions, and restaurants. The food was so delicious, with alot of the produce from thier own gardens. Our dogs loved the maze through the corn fields! We will return for sure.

Room Tip: There are 2 suites that have kitchens, we stayed in the Stable Kitchen suite, had our own grill also.

We're glad you and your dogs loved your visit to Fox Hill. We think the corn maze is pretty cool for our 2-legged and 4-legged visitors, too! If the garden grows, we love sharing our bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables in our breakfast dishes. We look forward to your return visit.

My wife and I had a great escape this weekend with our two dogs. The check in process was quick and easy, Cathy was very informative, and they have assembled an information binder in each room with local events, attractions, restaurants, etc. They are very knowledgeable about local events, and things to do. We stayed in the Cornwall suite, and found it spacious, comfortable, and well appointed. The B&B and rooms were well kept and very clean. The grounds are very nice, with Mountain Views. The dogs are very welcome, with homemade treats, extra dog towels, and the grounds are very conducive to play and run the pups. Leashes are required, but they have cut paths and a large field into a cornfield, leaving a great place for the dogs to run off leash. Breakfast is a highlight here, with home cured bacon, fresh fruits, and fresh baked goods.
This b&b is kid free, a great option for those looking for peace and quiet. We loved this policy! We look forward to our return trips!
