“Great tea room with lovely food”

Miss Minerva's Tea Room and Gift Shop
Ranked #19 of 111 Restaurants in Culpeper
Description: Quirky tea room in the English style. A huge variety of unusual teas is available and to assist customers with their choice, a rotating stand of samples is provided on the table to have a good sniff of. We had the cream tea, which was a good attempt at an English one. The cream was not quite like English cream and neither it nor the jam were in sufficient quantity, but we thoroughly enjoyed it nevertheless. The tables are beautifully laid with pretty china and table linen. A room called ‘Grandma’s Attic’ at the back has loads of hats which customers can try on and wear whilst taking tea. Great fun!

Stopped in here on a whim and was delighted to find not only a full high tea menu but many alternatives and flexibility on which parts of high tea you might want. So anything from just tea and a scone through to a full service with hot soup l, scones, tea sandwiches and desserts plus tea. Service was friendly and outstanding. Drop in and enjoy.

Quaint, charming and a Culpeper mainstay. Pat and Monica host a lovely high tea. Their menu is a classic right down to the finger sandwiches. Wonderful for a Mommy and Daughter day out. Reservations suggested.

With bone China and an assortment of tea selections dining is refined and elegant. The tea sandwiches were quite good and the scone was tasty. Service was thoughtful and we didn't feel rushed.

My grandchildren were visiting again from Texas and this was one place they asked to visit again! A 15 year old girl and 8 year old boy were delighted with selecting a tea by the smell of its leaves (several shakers available to do this) and the triple-tier tray of small sandwiches. scones and desserts. They enjoyed the experience, the tea, and especially the food. Highly recommended.

This is a favorite fancy ladies outing. Men are welcome and have joined us, but the ladies of all ages in our family like to celebrate each other with a Tea Lunch. We select from 50 varieties of tea, each having a beautiful and different pot. We drink a cup of our own choice and then try each of the other's. If we are extra hungry, we order soup to start but otherwise have Tea for Two and Tween or Children's Tea depending on who is with the party. We get an elegant epergne with three plates of dainty servings. Two plates are savory and one is dessert sweets. Each attractive serving is bite sized and a different flavor and texture. There is a dressup room with mirrors and shelves of choices of hats, scarves and jewelry to try on or wear at the table. This is very popular with the young girls who like to decorate the older women..
