This is a comfortable hotel in a great location, in close proximity to the university and close to shopping and restaurants. The room was very comfortable with a desk work area, a couch/sitting area, and an outside balcony. The hotel was so quiet for such a busy weekend! The courtyard at this hotel is large and has many comfortable seating areas. We were in town for graduation and with a lot of family there we made good use of gathering in the courtyard. There is also a nice lounge area inside with a casual restaurant/bar. (Food in the restaurant was good - especially breakfast!) We also used the workout room each day and found it sufficient. The pool was closed for the weekend but was large with a hot tub.

We had a toilet that leaked and had to move our room. The maintenance staff member was actually more helpful in getting our room moved than the front desk - we really appreciated his help! The restaurant area has some furniture that needs recovering - large holes in the upholstery. I left gifts for two family members and was told they could not be put in their rooms and would be given to them at check-in. Luckily I asked one of my sisters about her gift as she was leaving...she never received it at check-in! I promptly went to the front desk and was told, "Yes, we have that" but no explanation was given why it was not given to my sister. Overall, we found the front desk staff to be average.

Room Tip: 2nd floor was very quiet; Ask for a room with a pull-out couch!

It was a 1 night business trip to a standard hotel. The staff was friendly, the room was nice and so was the gym facility. I didn't have time to walk around the property but found it a bit odd that I could get breakfast at 9:30 because they restaurant was closed.

Probably the third time I’ve stayed at this hotel- average spot with average room. Biggest plus is proximity to UVA via 29- can be there in 7-10 minutes. Also has many restaurants around the hotel if you don’t want to be in the craziness by the school. We picked this hotel for the heated indoor pool for the kids (met another family there) but the heater wasn’t working and so the water was too cold to use. Not the top choice but doable.

Thank you for your feedback and as you noted our location can be very peaceful while still staying near to downtown and UVA.
We apologize for the pool temperature and assure you this is an effort our engineering team is working on diligently on to correct.
We hope to see you on your next visit and ensure you enjoy all of our amenities!

Horrible hotel! First of all- it's very spread out. You have to walk yourself to death! The elevator is not very convenient. For the size of the hotel, there should have been 2! The room was small for a king suite. It was very oddly arranged. The king size bed was not a regular King. In our King bed at home, my husband and I never bump into each other, not on this bed! We found dirt on the sheets- that sort of looked like a dead bug of some sort. The pool was out of order because the heater was broken. The hot tub was open, but was SUPER HOT! We didn't stay long, as it was burning our skin. The shampoo and conditioner were not the normal travel size, it was in a pump inside the shower. The scent of the shampoo and body wash was horrible! The room was highly over priced. We expected it to be super nice being Marriott, but not the case. We won't be back, needless to say.

When we checked into the room, we noticed that the bed still had stains on it. It certainly was not the way we wanted to start, but a call to housekeeping resolved it immediately. I'd say the room decor needs a bit of updating, but the staff really makes this property shine. From the front desk team, dining staff at breakfast and housekeeping, everyone is friendly and eager to help. Overall, it was a great stay.
